I got the opportunity to take a great buck at less than 10 yards yesterday. This was my second buck ever but my first buck/deer from the saddle using the one-stick method. This was special for many reasons but the main being that my father bought me most of my gear. The first piece being my predator xl platform last Christmas. My father, Pops, passed away 2 months ago today. It was a really special hunt. I wore my fathers ring, a space shuttle ring he received after working for 30+ years with the Space Shuttle program, around my neck and kissed it before the sun came up. This guy came strollin in at 7:49am. I breathed a couple breaths to calm myself, pulled back on my bow and released the trigger. This one’s for you Pops! Love you forever.

Awesome story and awesome deer!

On a side note, the similarities between that buck and the one my son shot last year are uncanny.

Absolutely. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe he asked God to send him my way.
