Yeah yeah...I watch it too... But if u carrying a platform there has to be a way up also and I notice u don't see him carrying them ...I think the camera guy probably has the harder of the 2 jobs anyway. I like watching them. They'll make it down south again and we see how they do... Need some redemption for the last trip down here.

As a longtime boat owner of many small outboard types, it kills me when I see Ted driving a tiller from the wrong side :tearsofjoy::cool:

Never heard of this guy but I'll definitely check it out.
I stumbled upon Jeff's stuff about three weeks ago and Love it!!! We just got great snow today for this and our season is over. NY was talking about extending the season beginning tomorrow through January 2nd for bow, xbow or ML but I haven't heard anything more about it.

Aaron's video with the Orange army was insane yesterday. Can't imagine why anyone would want to hunt in that sea of hunters. But they got it done. I think after someone shot at me once would be enough. Credit to them for sticking it out. They won the day with that buck. I found it interesting that deer saw those guys out there at 400yrds and didn't mind. I've never hunted an area like that. But found it interesting he just kept walking.
I just watched that video yesterday. Exactly one of the points I was trying to make. Not only would that buck not have moved until 2 hours after dark here but the does wouldn't have either. The deer in some of the areas they hunt almost seem tame. Deer around here just don't act like that.

This thread is making me rethink a bit. I’ve only just got into watching hunting on YT and I started with THP and did five episodes or so. I wasn’t really learning much, because the methods used weren’t applicable to here.

Someone here mentioned @catman529 and I gave his videos a whirl. I’m all in, soaking up knowledge. Watched all of 2020 so far and going back and watching older content. I don’t have a mentor that “hunts”. They all just climb ladders that have been there 20+ years. I have never enjoyed climbing a ladder and sitting still for five hours and see only a few squirrels and birds.

Someone on here recommended the Still Hunting Bible by Fred Asbell. I find the font horrendous and tiny but there is so much gospel that I have to finish it. It’s been 20 years since I’ve learned much in general. So I find it all a bit daunting. But I want to get better and become more of a hunter and less of a waste my timer.

Anyone know how to find the video older than 2018?

Great guys and great hunters. This has been said but it bares repeating. They normally have several guys in their group hunting and scouting. This actually is huge, if you have a week to hunt a new area there is only so much one can do to get on to deer. Now have 6 guys doing it. It cuts the learning curve way down. I kill plenty of mature bucks on state land and I always try to tell guys you are way better off burning 2 or 3 days of finding the deer and the sign than diving right in and wasting a couple days sitting what ya "think" is good. I believe the THP guys have done more to help the new public land hunters than anyone out there. I hope they continue to do great work. Also Ted for his age is very knowledgeable, he can figure out what the deer are doing as well as anyone I know!! Shawn

While most of the terrain they hunt is vastly different from what I hunt I enjoy finding the similarities and adding those to my skill set and knowledge base. I honestly believe those guys can go anywhere whitetail live and get it done inside a week. Their ability to adapt is impressive and inspires me to challenge myself and hunt new areas.
