Anyone else have the issue where you have to pull your knee pads up every 100 yards? There's a tip here for everything so why not this! Last hunt, I had to walk 1 mile straight up a mountain, so I just left them in the pack (I like having them on though).

I've got arcteryx and trophyline knee pads, and haven't tried the trophyline yet, just got'em.

Tighten them up. It’s a fine line but if your pants are baggy or the straps are loose the pads will move.

This is not an add for the Trophyline knee pads. I had the same problem with whatever knee pads I had used falling down walking in. The Trophyline done and I believe the reason is that the lower strap which sits on top of your calf muscle is webbing instead of elastic so it doesn’t stretch.

Now for the add for the Trophyline, they are by far the best I’ve tried so far. Bit bulkier but they stay in place, are quiet, and very comfortable.

I have the trophyline also and haven't had any problems with them while walking... They stay up good...the top strap may need a tug before entering thick brush to keep leaves and sticks from falling in behind the pad but the bottom strap stays where u set it

I have the old trophyline knee pads. I agree on the solution being the 2 different straps. Also, lock those bad boys down. I walked roughly 6 miles last Saturday (accidentally turned the onX track on in the stand) and the knee pads never moved.

I think you have already solved your problem. Leave them in your pack and put them on before you climb. I have the original Trophyline they stay in place but I hate walking around with them on my knees if I don't need to.

I use the trophy line and every so often my pads slide down no matter how tight I tighten depending on the pants I even pull my pants above my knee before I put them on but it still loosen ups I even did it the other way and it occasionally slides I feel it’s because the constant movement of walking and picking up the legs going up and over trees and rocks so I now carry a small roll of electrical tape and wrap above and below the buckles around my leg. Problem solved and easy to discard after a hunt. I prefer to wear mine in. Less work at tree which is minimal but that’s what works for me

Strap em to your forehead so you are more efficient when you get to your tree in the dark... also works great to bang head against said tree when there is a lock on next to you

I have the arcteryx as well and never had a problem with them falling down regardless if I am wearing knee high boots, hip waders or hiking boots. I do have shapely calf muscles that the bottom straps sit above so maybe that is keeping mine up. If you are cursed with chicken legs, putting them on at the base of the tree may be your only option aside from integrating them into your hunting pants.

Can't stand wearing them when I did our wood flooring, not about to walk around with them on in the woods. I carry 1 pad and don't put it on till I'm in the tree ready to hunt.

Here's your tip... Let them fall. (Sort of)

If you are walking a significant distance to your spot, wear them in on your shins. You likely won't even notice they are there, especially if you wear Muck boots. When you get to your tree, loosen the straps, pull them up, tighten the straps, and start climbing.

Old 1 back to life and not totally relevant to original question but I don't really care.....

I still wear while walking in and if just a short walk out i don't bother taking off....I have everything packed away and vest on when I hit the ground minus pull down, rappel, and weapon and I not wanting to take stuff back off to pack this away at the base of the tree.. Once I get the rope down and stuffed into it's pouch I'll bend over to grab my bow I've been popping them off and real quick attach to quiver for the long walk out...silly little thing but I feel dumb for not doing the same in the past

I guess techniquly u could take them off and pack away before u descend but I like having them on during the whole climb
