To those that have bought the Triad bridge from H2

If I have a saddle other than a phantom I would consider making an triad bridge out of amsteel so it can grab like it has comfort channels but so it slides like an ultribridge

I assume the prussic made of amsteel will grab the bridge loops as well as the fake amsteel.

I am sure the fake Amsteel is less expensive. Buy the real stuff. I expect the H2 competes on price. It is an excellent saddle especially for the financially challenged. So I am not running down the product. I got one this week. The bridge would be better made of Samson amsteel

I made the triad version and the utilibridge version and a combo of the 2 making a loop that was 11" long and making it a prussic attatch to the main line and a prussic on the other end out of continuous loop and feeding it with the main line so i got a combo of both using 3/16" for the main utilibridge main line and using 1/8" for the continuous loops that makes the prussic and swabisch and using amsteel on all lines and all with full bury..they all work perfect and light weight for a bridge..i like them all and will use on all my saddles from now on..i really dont see them failing even though it is early in the game but key point is you got to be confident in your equipment and i trust my construction and im sure the tethered guys tested their version extensivly to intriduce it to the market which led guys like Heath to introduce his version which works and im glad personally this option is out there for another style and method of bridges

I used the 3/16 because i didnt have the 1/4 on hand but if you want the larger diameter to feel more secure by all means go for it..i feel they work equally other than the 1/4 has more breaking strength

How easy does the 1/8" move on the main line? Guess I'm wondering why the commercial versions used such large sizes for the prussics? Possible the smaller diameter has a much higher fiddle factor while hunting trying to adjust with gloves etc?

I do a full bury on the 1/8 on the continuous loop and it thickens up good and i find no problem moving it up or down and when tension on the bridge really tightens it down and loocks it in place..i was climbing few days back and slipped off my make shift platform and fell several feet and the prussic really grab the 3/16full bury bridge..no slippage whats so ever..other than some nut huggage..im confidant in this set up

So I made this bridge setup out of real amsteel yesterday. I put it on a recon sling. This set up definitely slides better than the H2 bridge.
By the way my initial impressions of the H2 and the recon are good. I can’t wait to compare it to the phantom. I am sure the phantom bridge material is better if it is the Amstel brand

The recon is like an Anderson sling. Tethrd must think this idea has promise if they are bringing out the Eberhardt sling soon. And the Wrapter experiments are like the Anderson too.

Just curious. One of the utilibridge guys said they had tested similar design with no comfort channels and said it didn’t hold up over time.

FYI,
Amsteel, also known as synthetic steel, is a high-strength, high-tech fiber. Amsteel rope is flexible, spliceable, and resists flex-fatigue and abrasion.. It is as strong as steel with one-seventh the weight. ... Synthetic steel is manufactured under other trade names such as Spectra and Dyneema. If you want to slam the product Heath Hartt (H2) make at least be able to know what you are talking about. The products he uses is the exact item as all the rest who claim to use Amsteel. I hate those who are uniformed and fell they must impose their misinformation on the rest of those who read this forum.

If you put both products in your hand you would realize they are not exactly the same.
They may be made of the same or similar material but they are definitely not identical. How the fibers go together makes them very different. Amsteel feels like cloth. The other stuff feels like plastic.
And I knew that before I got the H2
They are not the same texture or firmness. One is more supple and retains its shape when under pressure.
Buy some and make two bridges before you slam my comment
I knew this before I even had an H2 and said in a previous post a few weeks ago I had questions about the rope quality before I bought the saddle

I have repeatedly said I hate the mantis. How is that. The mantis is uncomfortable for me. So you are wrong. I do believe after a very short test, I think the H2 is better than the mantis. I personally would rather have an H2 over a mantis

Some people have not liked my comments about the mantis. I really wanted to like it because I have a ton of respect for the guys who made it. But I am honest and not full of it. My opinion is somewhat meaningless since saddle comfort is very subjective

"I hate those who are uniformed and fell they must impose their misinformation on the rest of those who read this forum. " Seems you and the "Aerial Amimals - Versatile Circus Equipment" website (the first hit on your google search) are the uninformed ones in this case. Amseel is a registered trademark of Samson Rope Technologies, Inc and is a rope made by them and of Dyneema fiber. There are many other Dyneema ropes made by other companies, but they are NOT Amsteel. There definitely is a difference that you can see and feel. If Heath did not get his bridge material from Samson, which he never claimed that he did, then it is not Amsteel, it is just some other generic, cheaper "Dyneema".

Just kind of curious if we are arguing on quality of rope or are we inferring that the Triad bridge is unsafe? I am one that bought the triad and replaced an AmSteel Utilibridge I put on my saddle. I undid all the splicing and feeding through you have to do on the Utilibridge and kept it. So I still have it and can use it again.

I don’t believe H2 would sell something that is unsafe but I sure don’t want to sit in something that could be if it’s cheaper in some way. I’m getting the feeling the more I learn about all this, that AmSteel is like the name brand, whereas other materials out there are extremely similar and maybe/hopefully as strong and safe. At the end of the day all I care about is safety and don’t really care what name is on the product.

The triad is just excellent . The rope is not great it could be way better
It is safe but it. Could slide better

The Triad Bridge is safe. Just people stating opinions and preferences. It sounds like some folks don't like the feel of the rope used with the Triad. Worst case, mod the bridge with your preferred material. The triad bridge is $25 - not a big expense if it's something you decide that it's not what you want. From what I understand Dyneema and Spectra are brand names of UHMWPE fiber. Amsteel-Blue is a brand that uses Dyneema and made by Samson Rope.

Absolutely the bridge design is safe. I never questioned that. The design is great too. Heath made a great competitor to the ultribridge. The two rope types are equally strong too.
BUT
The fake Samson rope becomes extremely tight under load and then no longer slides well. I believe if you use the brand Samson amsteel the triad bridge will be better. Real amsteel has different physical characteristics than generic dyneema.
All dyneema is not identical, buy some try it and put it in a bridge or buy some and just feel it in your hand. The Samson rope is limp not stiff
And it does not have a plastic feel. It will not compress as much and I think it does not stretch the same. In a prussic configuration it will not compress as much so it unloads and slides better.
Look at the ropes below. Both were put under load. Which do you think will be easier to adjust
Look at the visible difference in the rope. One has an obvious shine one is visibly very compressed and one will not slide without unloading it and loosening the knot

Understand. I do see the difference. I have both and I could tell just my messing with both. To me the sliding of the rope is not super important. I like the length of the triad as is when it’s extended all the way out. If I find it annoying after a while though I’ll just put the Utilibridge back on. But I’ll make it/tie it the way the triad is. I really like that configuration.

The configuration is great on the triad. I will likely try and make a triad out of Samson amsteel for my H 2
I made the utilibridge version for my recon

I agree, i wouldnt say i hate the mantis, i would say it was not the proper saddle for me. From day 1 I really tried to like the Mantis, but it was never comfortable. I got ride up no matter what i did, it was tight around my back because it just wasnt wide enough, and it just never felt good. I bought an h2 and love it. I can climb and sit in that thing all day i think. my only complaint on the h2 is that the loops are too big and sometimes my molle quick attach come loose

Heath seems to be a great guy too, he answered me when i bugged him, and was willing to not only answer but ask me questions about my experience and issues.

A. "The fake Samson rope becomes extremely tight under load and then no longer slides well."
Isnt that the knock on Amsteel? You cant get a prussic to hold? Now this stuff is too grippy?

B . I see comments that Amsterl is soft and supple. FAKESTEEL is like plastic? Well after fumbling with some of Heath's material today, it doesnt take long to get soft and silky. I was trying to re-do a knot and had some struggles. By the time I was done it looked different and felt different.

I see value to both. Time will tell.

The triad bridge is a good idea that could be better.
I think a full bury on the bridge and prussic may be the main reason the triad bridge does not move well after being loaded.
Tethrd has a patent pending on their bridge. A home made ultribridge slides way easier that the triad bridge after loading.
I figured it was because of the rope. The rope definitely has different characteristics than regular amsteel. Maybe the lack of full bury is the issue with the triad bridge.

Now hear me. I really really like the H2 saddle. A quality product and I am so far very very impressed with the comfort for me personally. I am also very impressed with the service and price.
The phantom loses on price and wins on the bridge I expect - I do not have a phantom yet. It is in customs.

My comments about the bridge... make your own triad with full bury on the rope. I know this makes a difference when using Samson amsteel.

A challenge... make a triad with Samson amsteel and a full bury on 3/16 and 1/4 Samson amsteel and let us know what you think .
You may be surprised at how much better it is.

Note: I very highly recommend the H2 saddle. I have never liked the mantis for comfort. How is that for not bashing the H2.
The H 2 is highly recommended by me so far. It is a buy especially for the financially challenged and maybe for anyone.

Another saddle I am really liking for comfort is the recon. It is an Anderson sling copy like John Eberhardt uses I believe.
It looks strange is a reasonable cost and seems comfortable after several short sits.

I reached out to H2 to see if they would make a Triad with genuine Amsteel. They did nt reject the idea but said they would look into cost and let me know. It's been a few days and I haven't heard back. My guess is if enough demand is there, they would switch or offer both.
