Trad Guys.... Need broadhead recommendations

This will be my first year hunting with a recurve. I have a Samick Sage 40# that I'm shooting 3-under, fixed-crawl. I have everything dialed in but need to choose my hunting broadheads (whitetails in VA, WV, & PA). I'm pretty sure I'm going with 150gr 2-blade single bevel heads. Anyone have recommendations on brands? I was considering Cutthroats from RMS, or Grizzlys but am open to suggestions from those who have more trad experience than me. Thanks y'all

Single bevels really aren’t necessary for white tails. The magnus stinger is a very good choice, as is an old school Zwickey or the like. Most hunting bows were in the 40# range before the compound and did just fine with a double bevel single blade.

Zwickey eskimo, tried and true. Killed 1 doe from climbing stand with samick last year.

Been doing a ton of research today and from what I found you're correct. There are plenty of arguments out there on single vs double bevel... seems like the difference is negligible at close range on whitetail... I'm probably overthinking things (I do that often).

Right now I'm looking at Magnus Killer Bees and VPA 2-blade "penetrators." both are DB

The other thing is with light limbed trad gear, heavier arrow, heavier broadhead, better penetration.

It’s hard to beat a Stinger buzzcut for penetration. Didn’t ever have great blood trails but the deer always died in sight so didn’t matter. Had very good blood trails with Muzzy Phantom 4 blades and 3 blade Wensel Woodsmans. Penetration was also good with those heads too shooting from #40-50. Lots of good options for trad heads. My suggestion is to not overthink it and spend more time working on your shooting. All the heads work great when sent through both lungs.

Cutthroat 160 gr. single bevel from my 47# @ 30" longbow. Excellent heads. If looking at 3 blade, check out VPA heads.

zwickey-->( no mercy ) would be a good choice for lighter bows, and I believe you can get them in single bevel if that's what you want. 3-1 ratio gets good penetration.

My favorite broadheads by far are the obsolete Magnus two blades. However, since those are no longer made, I use Zwickey Delta's. I tried the No Mercy's but prefer the Delta's. Don't over think your broadheads. Most any 2 blade heads are proven and very deadly.

I've had great luck with Magnus stingers 150 gr...every deer I've shot has died in sight and that's with low to mid 40 lb bows...I've been wanting to try cutthroats but have to much success with Magnus to switch.
