46 years of bowhunting this year. All but 2 with traditional gear. Somewhere around 100 white tails, a couple mile deer, 15 elk, 2 moose, a mountain goat, a bighorn ewe, a New Zealand Sika stag, a black bear and 8 turkeys. Oh yeah, 7 antelope.
I've made my own arrows for 35 years.
It's the most satisfying way to hunt. I don't mind knowing that the majority of the game I see is not going home with me. Last year the 3 bucks I wanted to kill each was less than 20 yards at some point during the season and they all got away.
You hunt harder and longer, and sometimes the critter wins.
