Probably work about as good as adding durable cordage or a coat of "different" paint on top of powdercoatingGood luck. Hope it doesn't let you down when you least want it to.
What is vet wrap?
All suggestions (other than the one to go love myself, haha) are welcome. Thats how we solve stuff.Probably work about as good as adding durable cordage or a coat of "different" paint on top of powdercoating
Dont matter to me none....just offering a suggestion
Important to offer suggestions that we have done ourselves and know the results.....my platform is made of round tubing so may behave differently than the platform we are talking about.....the vet wrap works with 5/8 stainless tubing and also unpowdercoated 1x1x1/8 aluminum square tube....it does wear but easy to visually inspect and rewrap. I have yet to have to rewrap my stuff with over a season of use. It's very cheap and since u are ordering from Dano anyway u might as well throw a couple rolls in the basket....Ive found tons of uses for it....the thicker the wrap the better the sound deadening and it gets tacky with use and in some situations that tackiness is beneficial....bow grip, aluminum canoe yoke, etc....All suggestions (other than the one to go love myself, haha) are welcome. Thats how we solve stuff.
So my main practice tree is big!! And a locust.. it still squeeks but like 25% as much as it did. And I've been doing the jump trick for every set since i posted. The smaller tree was silent. Im going to keep working with it another week or so and see what happensOnce you get on the platform if you put your foot close to the tree and give it a couple small jumps to really set it I wasn’t able to get hardly any squeak out of it.
Hey guys ive been following this thread with much interest. I bought a treesuit platform and i really like it and was determined to make it work. I have tried all the suggestions from sanding to bed liner, different paint, vet wrap, step anti skid tape etc. It all would work partially or temporarily. So today i decided to put the sheet metal screws in the posts and bingo no more squeak nomatter how much i moved around on it.

Have we locked down a solid solution for the noise yet? Just bought one and am suppose to be getting it from @iamcorey this week. He bought one too but sold it after experiencing the noise.I spoke with Mark today.
He REALLY prefers that guys don't do any major mods on the tree suit, like drilling posts.
If you have issues (with ANY Treehopper products), call him to discuss it.
