How long is ur tether?
What are you guys doing with your excess tree tether? Do you just leave it hang or use something to tie it up out of the way?
Jealous? I can pm my digits and u can send me some photos of ur tether and what u do with it if u want...if I like what I see I'll send u some pics that I guarantee will impress....That’s getting a little personal, don’t you think?

I tie mine in an alpine butterfly (or marlin spike hitch if I’m on a big tree and don’t have a lot,of excess) and clip it in to to my bridge carabiner as a backup to my prussic.
I take the tag end and drop it down the gap between the tree and the rope. Keeps it hanging straight against the trunk and out of the way
Same here. On a smaller tree with a decent amount of extra tether that could still mess me up. However, should be a lot less than hitting the ground.I do what Aerohunter recommends when you buy their saddle kit. Tie a figure 8 on a bite on the end of the tether and clip it back in to you bridge carabiner. In the event your prusik or mechanical ascender fails, you will be caught by your tree tether.
Yea you might have a very sore neck and back from the short fall but better than a broken backSame here. On a smaller tree with a decent amount of extra tether that could still mess me up. However, should be a lot less than hitting the ground.

Don’t have to have a sore neck. Just learn to tie an alpine butterfly knot and you can easily place it on the tag line at just the right spot so, in the event of a prussik/ropeman/other failure, you’d only drop about an inch before being caught.Yea you might have a very sore neck and back from the short fall but better than a broken back
