I had contacted him about the bolt holders. I know his craftsmanship is amazing, but I think I am looking for more of a pouch style versus a roll out holder. Something I can keep clipped or lashed onto my pack.

I picked up a pouch he made that is worn like a bino harness second hand from the classifieds here. I'll see if I can locate the picture and I'll PM you.

Dude, that's the best idea I've seen yet!

Thanks man! It works perfect for how I use it. I normally keep a pair of gloves in there too. As long as you are careful pulling the bolts out you don’t get the noise from the threads rubbing together.

I can fit 18 bolts and a drill in my eberlestock accessory pouch that I have attached to my saddle. I also put grip tape and reflective tape on the bolts so I can see them in the dark easy

I like the setup, but does it not seem heavy with that many bolts , I only carry 10 -14 with my drill and it sags my saddle.

I carry mine in my pack, then strap to sternum strap on pack to climb with. Iit doesn't bother me. I can see it being heavy on a saddle

Its 3.5 lb.... with the platform clipped to my saddle it does kind of sag walking in. I tighten my bridge over my yoke and it helps alot.

3.5lb for a climbing system is the great in my books.

It could be better and I'm thinking of trying to maybe get a pouch that can attach to a strap on my pack

I've seen a lot of great setups. I think my best route is to buy something cheap to get an idea of what I want/need in a bolt holster. What I found is similar to a lot of the ones mentioned. It was $8 shipped. Hoping it will fit the bill!

Here is how I do it. I carry it in my pack til at the tree.

Full size Treehopper drill, 8 steel bolts and 9 titanium "bolts" fit without rattling. I run a cheap strap through the molle on the back and sling it over my shoulder as I climb. Just unzip at the top and everything is accessible easily. The mesh pocket in the front, I carry reflective racks for marking trees.
Weighs about 3.5#

Nice! Looks really similar to the one I just purchased. Good to know that it'll work!

VTBOW. do you have any pics of the T Steps while on tree, I like the idea of using them as a ROS. Also nice to a all in one compact system.

I may have to reconsider selling my 10 carbon fiber and 19 titanium bolts and the bolt pouch that Squirrel made after reviewing this thread. I'll give it a couple of more days...

Do uou have a picture of the squirrel bolt pouch for us?

What were you switching to? I’ve been practicing with climbing with spurs for this season but still plan to keep my bolts around.

I bought all 28 of my bolts as a splurge. Did not care for them an went back to one sticking.
