He does sell a Large size Recon. How does the TreeHopper Recon Sling work for large individuals? say 6'2" 300lbs? Will it be comfortable for extended sits? Or is there a better saddle/sling for big guys?
They offer 3 different sizes.
The regular fits best for waist sizes from 34- 35" to 44- 45" small for waist sizes below 34" and a large for waist sizes above 45".
the recon is one of the most comfortable saddle/slings I have tried. As a matter of fact I have only had 1 saddle that was comparable to its comfort. It’s very comfy and I am a husky bitch.
I ordered a Recon yesterday, just curious, I hear so much about its comfort what compromises does it make that it isn’t the go to saddle for more people?
That's a good question. I really can't explain why saddle makers keep trying to reinvent the wheel. The basic concept of the original Anderson was genius, but what it lacked was an active bridge, suitable belt, lineman loops, or molly loops.I ordered a Recon yesterday, just curious, I hear so much about its comfort what compromises does it make that it isn’t the go to saddle for more people?

The Recon solves those weaknesses, it's affordable, its made in the USA, and it takes only a few days to get one. Its super comfy and light, too.

Thats one of the nice things about the Recon. The straps can easily be flipped back and forth in order to see which works best for you. It doesn't take any tools to do it and doesn't damage or permanently alter the sling. The only real compromise that I find is that if you flip the panels for comfort (see Allegheny Tom ‘s video), then dump pouches don’t work as well. I have just moved stuff from dump pouches to my pack. I think it actually makes it more comfortable to not have anything on the saddle anyway.

As others have mentioned, cut off the plastic covering the webbing buckles to get rid of the creaking of the webbing on the plastic.
