Treehopper Tree Suit

I love mine! I have 2. I also use a truckers hitch on an Amsteel Daisy chain , I just ran the daisy along the inside of the tubing thru the angled supports and hold in place with Ty wraps. Step straight down close to the tree to set it and it’s solid. One of mine had the slick squeaky paint on it, so I just hit it with some ultra flat krypton camo paint and no longer have any noise issues…

Where are you ending that truckers hitch? The post or a timber hitch?
 
Timber hitch, there’s a single loop on the end of the Amsteel on the right side of the platform, I go around the tree and run the opposite end thru the loop, go back a few links and run through a daisy loop and pull tight back towards platform then drop end into gap between Amsteel and tree up by the platform and pull down pinching rope between itself and tree 2 or 3 times then step on it to set.
Hope that’s not too confusing…

I tried it yesterday, has promise. I ll pick up a longer amsteel daisy as my sticks use 6 ft.
Seems almost too simple
 
Somehow I forgot we were going on a vacation so I guess I’ll have to try to get better pictures when we get home.
This getting old is not for the faint of heart…
 
How comfortable is the tree suit platform for leaners? That V angled front edge is my concern, looks like it wouldn’t be the most comfortable in your feet. Like the setup of it otherwise. I would prefer a straight edge instead of the v.
 
I have one (2nd Gen w/teeth) - I had high hopes for it, but unfortunately I don't like the "fiddle" factor for me - the OCB is hard to quiet down and I can't get it to stay firmly on the tree - when I step on it platform tilts forward away from the tree. I used a ratchet strap and the legs bent...? I talked to the owner and he sent a new one where the posts were welded closed, but still the same problem of it bends away from the tree. I'll try DB4x4's method to see if that works. I do like the possibility of using this as both platform and climbing method with aider.

I also have the Recon sling - again high hopes but it's uncomfortable for long sits and is easily tangled up, and there's the "fiddling" with the bottom and top portions of it while sitting. I've since purchased the Classic 2 and an arborist two panel saddle I got really cheap - I like these two more than the Recon.

Yes. Climbing method and platform all in one. Progress capture recommended during the climb so there's no slack, otherwise it can be a little sketchy on certain trees.
