Turkey hunting with a bow

Example of my turkey blind setup. If you look closely it almost looks mowed in front of the blind up to the decoys. About a week before, I go in with a hand sickle and cut down the "stickers" and other twiggy stuff that could deflect an arrow. Again, I do not leave my blind out. I can have this up and staked down in about 5 minutes. Spring Turkey Archery Setup2.jpg

Hit em High. Watch em die. Hit em low, watch em go.
Sorry man but this just is not true. I have shot multiple birds with my bow and I can promise you this, you break them legs, game is over.

Also, a blind is not necessary. Killed multiple birds over the course of several seasons sitting behind the same set of "V" trees. I have a small stool and a bow holder staked in the ground. Put decoys out in front of the trees about 15 yards. Don't call too much.

Has anyone thought about the decoy you strap right to the front of your bow and hunting with that? No need for a blind but I enjoy the blind as I can stretch out and get comfortable and watch the morning and wildlife.

I have an umbrella shaped “blind” that screws into the stab hole. Never used it.

You don't need mesh on you blind for Turkey. They don't get spooked buy a black window in the blind.
X2 on leaving the mesh down for turkeys. I have shot through the mesh and killed deer however. I was advised not to shoot through the mesh be an archer that had lots more experience than me. He claimed deer could see the blind move as the arrow passed through. He BTW was a trad archer with much slower arrow speed.

I don't shoot through the mesh because I use Magnus Bullheads with a big cutting diameter . The Bullhead is not to be shot through mesh. The reason that I would use mesh for deer is that they will notice the black port hole in my Double bull blind and it spooked them. I've spooked many deer in turkey season with the ground blind with no mesh but never a turkey.

That is a Morrison Phoenix 21" with border hex6 wood core limbs.
I saw on their site they have several different riser lengths. What is your draw length and why did you go with 21" as opposed to 19" or 17"? Finger pinch or ability to use sights or both???
