Anybody here use the MR Pop-Up as their pack for saddle hunting. I'd appreciate any pics on how you attach your platform and sticks to the pack. Thanks!

That should help and give other ideas! I think quite a few people use it

Yep many of us use that pack, in most of its versions. I have a 38, though I think the 28 (and even original generation 18) are slightly more popular. I use a variety of sticks/platforms/one stick. Generally if using a platform and sticks input the platform in the meat shelf and strap the sticks vertically to the outside of the pack, if using one stick the lid does a great job of carrying it on top of the pack. Like @Bowtie747 suggests that's a great thread for pics and backpack discussion

No pics, but I would put my One sticks (5) in the bottom of the meat shelf and then my platform above and cinch it tight, saddle and other gear in the bag.

If you want to attach everything to the front of the bag, and not in the meat shelf, unbuckle the straps and extend them as far as you can. Use one from the left side and one from the right side to connect in front of the pack.

Beware friend, this is the gateway drug of frame packs. I wish you fair seas and following winds on your adventure.

seriously, it is a perfectly capable pack for most types of hunting / related hauling; there are many posts and threads on the 28 and it’s various sizes.

You could do the platform in the meat shelf and two sticks in each beer holder on the side. That way you could use the pack to frame straps to cinch it down and not have to buy more tie downs.

I think I may have screwed myself a little...I bought the Novix full size doubles...last year I hunted with the Skeletors, and while I liked them, I am a very heavy guy and pushing 50 and so my logic was that I'd rather carry heavier sticks in but not have to deal with aiders and whatnot, but the Novix steps are permanently deployed out and so I am having a hard time figuring out how to get them to fit. I have an Eberlestock F1 mainframe, they will work there...but I may just stick with the Skeletors again anyway for ease of carrying them in.

I use a MR pop up 28. I put my platform on the meat shelf and have 3 sticks strapped on the front face of the pack. Works really well. I connect the left side and right side straps together on the front to hold the sticks. When I get to the tree and undo that strap the sticks come off and the platform can slide out the side of the meat shelf without undoing to the top strap buckles up by the pop up part.

Platform in the meat shelf... beast minis even give my pack a little stand so it doesn't fall over

I don't see why you'd have a problem. Post a pic of what the problem is but I think everyone has posted their solutions above

I have a MR popup 28. My sticks go horizontally inside on the meat shelf. My EDP goes there as well.

I cinch my pack straps through the bottom of my EDP and everything is tight.
