Versa straps on predator platform not working

Platform test with versa strap!
Guess I am a dunce when trying to use the mini versa strap. This is the only thing I have tried so far that I could get to work. There were deer under me laughing and offering suggestions. One doe bet the other one a Buck it would kick out on me. I was embarrassed and brought my toys to the house.

You are not the only one.
I was very disappointed with the hit and miss performance of my early generation versa strap with a Predator. Versa work great on sticks and ~75% of the time they work okay on predators. But it isn't a consistent, dependable set every time. Its just not worth the frustration.
 
I'm in the same boat, I fiddled with it (opening day was Saturday) and will be going back to buckle. I was able to get it tight on third or fourth attempt. I guess I'll keep it if I ever go back to sticks.
 

I have the predator and I use it with the buckle. It seems to work okay and I have no reason to change it. However if you want to use the versa strap check out this video.

Great video thanks for sharing. I was practicing with the Predator this morning and was doing something similar to this and was getting good results. I think turning the platform 90 degrees can help take up some of that slack prior to camming over, but regardless of what you do with the versa there will be some slack and this technique seems to ensure a tight fit regardless.

Thanks for the video. I have to recant my statement on the versa strap. One's inability to use a product doesn't mean it is defective. I practiced today using the technique suggested in the video. I got good results on a variety of trees. I am putting the versa back in my arsenal.

Does anyone have access to this video?? I'm having this issue but the video says that its been removed
