Yes, I am close enough I hear colors from my house. I used to hunt the annex until it became a good old boys club running things so I quit going there. There are some nice ones there.
 
Hmmm…I only know the resources manager Taylor Austin and no one else. He’s a great guy. I follow the rules, do my own thing and no one bothers me. I kill’em, weigh‘em, skin’em, jaw bone them myself and never interact with anyone else. Up to you.

haha fair enough! I'll defer to someone else to figure out the date. I am leaving the country for several months in mid-January and may not be around for a meet up after all
 
Any one in VA (I’m in SW Va) that runs cell cams seeing them absolutely blowing up today? Since 11:30 this morning I’ve had bucks and does showing up on cam like crazy. Like they think it’s Nov. 9th all over again. Two really good shooters mid-day. What’s in the air today?!?
 
I'm in Roanoke, Va. I have cell cams around my neighborhood, which has a lot of deer habitat. Nothing unusual today, but about 2 days ago there was some amped up activity.

This year, with the amount of yearlings and fawns I seen this year throughout the region, I'm expecting an action packed secondary rut. I'm heading out in the morning for a scouting mission to see what the sign says.

Yeah I’m down in the Blacksburg area. Mine have been ridiculous today. Of course I had to work all day.

My cams are in Monroe County WV, so not too farm from SW VA, and they absolutely were blowing up. I have bucks fighting and lots of daylight movement.

I did last year as I was confident it was pretty close to guaranteed if you were drawn. Unsure about whether I will this year but most likely.
 
Why would you not apply??? It is $15 for an almost guaranteed elk in Virginia!!!!!!!!! I get everyone I know that hunts to apply, I tell them all if they win I will be there to help hunt and pack meat. They just have to pull the trigger
