Looking at next week's forecast it shows warm Temps, multiple days up to 70 degrees with lows in mid to upper 40s. I get a week to do this, what advice do u have? All day sits or break it up due to the heat? Any advice from tactics standpoint is appreciated

I'm in the same boat... the days I can take off are warmer.. cools off immediately after... I'm still going to hunt.... but if I don't see much I may shift back to the evenings and try to fill an antlerless tag

My advise is just go. Deer move regardless of weather, but now where they are when moving is a totally different story.

Here in SW Va. acorns are every where, which I think translates to don't have to move that far.

So my strategy is find something in between lots of acorns and different, like between acorns and CRP.

Water. Shady cool areas, They’re still going to be rutting it’s governed by photoperiodism. So try to find cooler shady areas or set up near water holes or areas with heavy deer sign at creek corossings.

Take a different week to hunt. If possible make it flexible based on weather. Prioritize cold fronts by making small changes in all areas of your life to be able to do so.

If you can’t, and must go this week, assume less daytime movement. Not “deer don’t move”, but “deer move less, and less far.” Get closer to where you think deer will bed/feed/seek. Be more aggressive. Walk more, prioritize running into deer in the flesh over “don’t want to push too far and ruin a hunt”. Be prepared to blow a spot or two - by being willing to work more spots.

Lows were in the 50s with highs in the 70 area with both deer I was able to harvest so far this year. I got both very early in the day, one about 10 minutes before sunrise and one 5 minutes after. Haven’t seen much movement in the evenings, 1 of 4 times I was out then, and it was damn near 30 minutes after sunset. My success ideas (I’m real new to bowhunting so big grain of salt): first one I was walking into where I wanted to get to about an hour before legal light and jumped one so that’s where I stopped. I didn’t want to bump any more if they were there and I figured once I was where deer were that’s not a bad place to be. Second one I got between bedding and water. Came from the water direction.
I did get the second one because I sat the night before and saw them moving about 150 yards from where I had set up though so I moved closer to where I saw deer for my setup the next morning. I likely wouldn’t have that one without an unsuccessful hunt the night before.
New bowhunter things (I think) I learned were if you see deer stop and sit there awhile and don’t be afraid to move to where the deer are, they go where they want to not where you think they want to.

High is forecasted to be 86 where I'm hunting this weekend. Morning temp will be 69 and humid blah. I'll be a sweaty mess but I've killed deer in these temps. You can't kill em unless you go, and staying home means you'll be looking at all the stuff you should be working on lol. I'd hunt as much as you can handle.

Appreciate the insight, im married to the dates, flying Az to Ohio. I've run into this in the past, seems to be more often than not.
