I want to see what everyone is using for accessing hunting spots from the water. kayak, canoe, gheenoe, jon boat or even a 80k bass boat. If you've done mods to them list them ( we all know some has been done). If you want to add why you chose your water craft please put that too.. I really want to see some canoes and gheenoes.

I'll start mine, is a sportspal S-15 with a 4 hp yamaha, gear rails, nucanoe gun rack, Ram phone mount, paddle clip, bending branches paddle, battery operated lights for navigation and I added a few pad eyes for lashing things down. I chose this canoe cause it's light weight and stable, I can still paddle in shallow water but yet still make it across larger body's of water with the motor

That's a sweet setup you got there. I'm on the process of putting a stern mounted trolling motor on an ascend 12t. I'll post up some pics when I get chance.
Thank you. I like it pretty good. Post it up when you get a chance to

You've got my dream canoe setup. I have a square stern with a 3.5 that will run almost 10mph with just me in it but it's a heavy poly boat. You just can't get Radisson/Sportspal boats down here.

I've used all kinds of boats to get across the water. Currently the go-to is a 1436 weldcraft with a lightly modified 420 predator in a swamprunner kit. Runs slow at 18mph but also runs anywhere i point it. Really good at getting in creeks and sloughs that most guys won't run a boat, easy to tow with the forester, no worries of beaching it or getting it stuck, and it was cheap and is built like an Abrams. Got a light bar up front so I can see stumps peeking out of the water and with a modicum of common sense I can run strange water in the dark without too much worry. If I wanna sneak into a spot i have a trolling motor.

Honestly I quit using a canoe unless I can't get a trailer in the water or I can look at where I want to get out (just crossing the creek.) Although I do have a modified pungo 120 that weighs less than 40lbs and a Swedish canoe cart for some places where you have to walk down a no-vehicle trail to get to the water.

I love water access. First year I hunted public solo I would literally swim a small lake during bow season. I got a lot of laughs and never shot a deer.

I spent the day cleaning up the boat, engine cleaning and maintenance and working on some mods for hunting season (lights, bow trolling motor mount, cup holders, gear tie down straps, etc). Can’t wait to use my jon boat for access to kill some deer! First season to have it.

I just got my new trailer frame back from the welding shop after cracking the original beyond repair. Had to tear it all down and reassemble it, then do the annual grease/rewire/touchup paint/miscellaneous BS.

Ready to hammer some teal and then haul out a 10 point buck with 11 inch tines.

I made the most important mod of all

That SportsPal is a great canoe and I have a Raddison that is very similar and works great as it is lined with foam and has oar locks with oars and has a square stern. I took the attached 9 point using it in 2007. I also took a state record using a pair of chest waders in 1981 from public land. Chest waders, hip boots, quiet canoes and small boats work great for accessing difficult areas.
