What’s in your hunting pack for a snack?

If I hunt behind the house I don't bring anything but when I drive to a hunting location I bring three pbJ's and water. I find "it's better to have and not want than to want and not have" but find most times they sit in my pack along with the granola bars I keep as emergency rations. They usually make it thru the hunt but rarely make it back home.

Water of coarse, and a little box of raisins. Going to get some jerky out of the freezer too now that we are getting into the rut.

Usually the wife makes a banana bread so I'll take a chunk of that. Meat and cheese sandwiches,or pbjs some chocolate chip oatmeal cookies(homemade). In the morning it's coffee for sure. Thermos of hot soup when it's cold. Definitely eat more when it's cold.

I never go in the woods without a Cosmic Brownie ( may just be a superstition, but all the deer Ive harvested, decide to come out when I decide to eat it )

I take one of those pre-made soylent drinks - coffee flavor, along with 2 probars. The Soylent is not something I'd ever crave, but 20minutes after drinking it I'm not hungry anymore, and it's super quiet. I give it an 8/10 - would recommend.

Definitely pb&j and a fudge round in a ziplock bag so the wrapper don’t crinkle. I usually wait till the peanut butter and jelly have been smashed into one molecular unit then just scarf that sucker. Man I love me some backpack smashed pb&j.

Usually eat a large honey crisp apple on my way to where I park. Usually just take about 20 oz of water unless I’m going to sit for longer than 6 hours.

As much as I can put in. Maybe why I am carrying a little extra weight. :D I usually pack a couple of sandwiches and a couple Little Debbie snacks for all day hunts plus something to drink. For a couple hour evening hunt, I may pack a snack or will take a drink if it is hot. Sometimes I take nothing.

A couple cups of raw mixed nuts and dried fruit, several Kirkland protein bars, sliced cheese and home smoked jerked meat (elk, deer, duck, goose) or summer sausage usually made from duck and goose mixed. Also keep a stash of tea bags and bullion tucked away in case I have to be out longer than planned. Always a lot more than I will use in a day.
