What bow are you hunting with this year?

Mathews solocam. Until I shoot a bow that is really improving my stopping power no good reason to upgrade. I’ll only shoot out to 40 max so no big reason to switch up now.

Thank you, but not really. I'm just an average hunter that's been at it for a lot of seasons. Since 1969 I've hunted with four different compound bows, five recurves and one longbow. And, I've kept a scoreboard kill tally on each bow and a written story for each kill. My reasoning was to offer me confidence before each shot at an animal and to be able to remember every kill. A quick glance down at my bow was a reminder that I had made a killing shot before and could do it again. I will add that it didn't work every time.

I like it! My dad and i have had good conversation on the difference between getting a shot and making a shot...being able to hold your mud in the heat of the moment is what it is all about...and your right it does not work every time but the day i don't come a little unglued I should probably quit

Legend!! 77, I tried to do a count on my total kills so far and I think I’m in the 60s with all weapons. I’m only 37 years old but that’s still a lot of catching up to do! You’re an inspiration. I plan to start up a log book and get at least half way to your level in the future. Happy hunting, sir

I have a new Mathews z3 to shoot this year. 29/72 pushing a 432 grain at 292fps. It isn't the smoothest drawing bow on the market but it is very consistent and forgiving. The bow is extremely accurate, me not so much but I have no doubt in it's ability to kill deer.

It's all relative. I was blessed to be in my prime during a prime time for hunting and having some outstanding areas to hunt. Not to mention, a burning desire with a "whatever it takes" attitude to put deer under me for close shots. It was much different back then. Three of the states that I hunted had a one deer a day limit with no season limits. And, one of the areas that I hunted consist of property that included two states offering the opportunity to legally kill two deer a day with no season limit. Plus every deer with the exception of a spotted fawn was a legal target. Through the passing seasons a lot of what I took advantage of changed, including myself.

2014 Hoyt Faktor Turbo set at 67lbs @ 27 draw. Black eagle deep impact arrows with inserts and their front of center outset system... It's a heavy arrow. Sevr broadheads, 125 grains. First year I built my own arrow and fletched with nock on vanes. Loving the setup so far.

I'm shooting the same shafts! Going into my second season with them and they are practically indestructable. Mine built out a little on the lighter side for deep impacts at 525 gr. I'm going to guess you're in the neighborhood of 580-600 gr finished arrow weight?

Yes I'm at 598 gr to be exact. FOC at 16% and speed at 233 fps. I don't anticipate shooting anything past 30 yards.

They've all jumped on the Mathews wagon. I've never ventilated a chest to have one say, "Man, I wish you'd a shot me with a Mathews!"

The PSE Carrol was my first bow. It was handed down from my uncle to my cousin and then to me in 1999. That’s a fine shooting bow for sure.

Gold tip xt hunter

My first Blowtech and first bow I’ll be hunting with for more than one season in a while. Probably because I spend all my money on roles and steps and caribiners and butt hammocks and what else can I get?

I am hunting with my couple year old PSE Premonition. I like it because it's only 30 inches axle to axle, not too heavy, and I've always got along good with PSE bows. Since my bows are strictly for deer hunting, I keep them in a minimal equipment configuration. Since I won't shoot at a deer at a distance that much exceeds 35 yards I have never felt the need to run a stabilizer or a crazy sight or any expensive add ons. I like this bow and have been shooting it for a while but after getting my wife a diamond prism I've definitely got my eye on a diamond deploy sb. Super slim, carbon, light weight, smooth shooting bow. It probably wouldn't be my first choice for any shooting competitions but I think it would make an awesome hunting bow. What bow are you running and how do you prefer to set it up?
