I Just bought a a KI Ripper 415 and so far so good. possibly a little heavier than ideal but in my research it seemed like the fastest bow in the low to mid price range. One complaint i have heard is that the trigger pull is heavy. I dont have anything to compare it to but mine doesnt seem to bad and it isnt sloppy which is far more important to me.

Unfortunatly for NYS you have to have a 17" uncocked limb width....So it kills a lot of great crossbows from being used in the state legally
You are absolutely correct so any of the Mission Sub-1's are all out of the question in addition to the Raven's.

This is what I have. There is a mod available for the trigger. Makes it a lot lighter pull. Really like it for the money. Got mine for under $200 on Amazon on a sale this last spring.

I also have a centerpoint 370. Do you have a link to the trigger mod. That thing is heavy and sloppy as hell.

Here's a link to the YouTube video some guy made about it. I think he has the info to get a hold of the guy to order from. Nice guy to work with.

Due to some shoulder surgery on my left shoulder and and then an injury to my right shoulder I have had to use a crossbow some the last 2 seasons....Started with the Excalibur Grizzly - which I still have - and then bought a Barnett Whitetail 2 this spring. Killed 2 gobblers with the Barnett this spring - bullheads to the neck so they are plenty accurate and I like the trigger on the Barnett better than the Excalibur....To much slack in the Excalibur trigger but I still like it for its simplicity...If I was going to buy another one I would be considering the Hickory Creek....

This is a moment to ponder all the vertical bow centric swag on here, with the t-shirts and hats. Everyone with an image of a saddle hunter with a vertical bow. Who is going to represent me? Where is my safe space? Please don’t say any triggering words like recurve, longbow, compound. It hurts my feelings.

Ha ha! Just kidding. Archery on vertical bow brothers and sisters. No pot stirring here.

I’m all for any weapon as well

I want to take advantage of every possible opportunity to be in the woods

I even hunted with a pocket knife one time

Mission MXB 320. If I bought a new xbow, would get the Centrerpoint, it is hands down the best one for the $ and if it breaks, throw it away and buy another and you are still below 1/2 price on a bare Mission. Whatever you buy, get an HHA Optimizer and your scope is good from 0-80 yes and move it to your next xbow.

@bluetoofew Head over to crossbow nation and ask for Rich, he goes by TX_RDXGuy, super nice guy and he makes and installs the trigger kit if you don't want to chance messing it up doing it yourself. I had him do mine, I believe you have to drill and tap a hole in the assembly to fix it.

I ended up buying the KI ripper 415,some heavier bolts and will buy the Hawk scope if I shoot the bow and it doesn't hit at the marks. Thanks guys and gals I will let you all know how it does in a week or so.

Just an opinion but the tenpoint scopes are very good speed ring scopes with illumination as well. I have the Rangemaster Pro on my sniper and love it. You should be able to find it cheaper than the Hawke scopes and they're very comparable optics.
