What did you buy today?

I just bought some Rit Dyemore dye specifically for polyester and synthetic fabrics. I bought gray and chocolate brown. Have to pick it up when they notify me. I wonder what color they will turn yellow into? :D

Think it'll depend on how many applications you attempt. Don't forget to TM each shade. ;)

Score!! Went to my local Walmart and found this for 9.00 a box.

They normally run 16.97 a box. Bought three and as they rang up the price said 4.50 a box.

Did a double take and asked the cashier if that was the correct price. She said yes as they are now on clearance. Bought a total of ten boxes. Will go next payday and get ten more...if they still have them.

Went to Walmart again...still have the ammo on sale for 4.50 a box...guess how many more I bought...that's right ten more. Lady said that Walmart will get rid of them at this price...hopefully next payday they will still have more. They have a bunch of 20 guage and if only I had a rifled 20 guage barrel.

A new Great Northern bow quiver.
My heavy, EFOC arrows are small diameter and my old Screaming Eagle quiver won't grip them. This new arrow build is getting pricey.

I wadded up a yellow LL Bean day pack in a bucket, squirted it with soap, poured a whole bottle of black synthetic RIT dye in, and then topped off with cold water from a hose and left it for 2 days outside with a lid on it in the yard (didn't wanna boil my backpack on a stove and risk damaging it or making a mess inside....I'm concerned with you heating up your yellow saddle strap for similar reasons, bj139....RIT wants that dye almost boiling). I left it crinkled up half on purpose in there. I then rinsed in the bucket very thoroughly and then washed in washing machine many times. Never ran and has lasted years. It came out camo tye dye. The lightest color looks yellowish green in person. I bet I could take some uncut RIT dye of various colors, drizzle it on like Jackson Pollock, let it sit for a day, and make it looker even cooler.

Thanks. I was going to cut a piece of yellow strap and boil it but I will try your method. It has been over 90F here so it is close. I want to leave my original Yellow Jacket (tm) intact and just sew a new dyed saddle.

My wife wanted an AR on Friday so I didn't argue with her.
She got an M&P Sport 2 5.56.
Way better than buying her jewelry!

Did you get her the 30 round clip automatic one? I’m wanting to build one. My wife was raised in a non gun/hunting family so you can imagine the look on her face when I said I wanted to build one. Why was her question, because I can was my answer. She did recently agree to go get training for her ccw, so I thinking I’m slowly working on her.

Ease her into it is best way to handle that. My wife didnt care if I had guns but was not raised around them. She has come along slowly but it took time for her to realize they dont bite when you are on the correct end of a gun. But I also didnt start her out with shooting my VEPR 12ga. either. It was my 22 LR WInchester plinking with cans and way too much ear protection. I think having over the top ear pro is critical because people who aren't used to guns get scared at the loudness of the gun going off and get turned off of it quickly because of the discomfort.

Speaking about doing a build. About 2 years ago I built my first 300 blackout SB Pistol. Super fun to build and VERY satisfying to have done it yourself.

Agree with what others have said about easing her into it. I got my wife hooked on it by shooting a bolt-action .22, which I later gifted to her. She now proudly takes ownership and calls it her “Sniper Rifle.” Haha If you can afford a suppressor, that’s an ideal way to give the gun less “bite” and make her more comfortable.
