What did you do today that’s related to saddle hunting?

I made an 18” mobile aider out of 1” wide strap from a tie down ratchet strap that loops around my boot and stays snug and the top hooks to the climbing stick at the versa tie down button using a 6” loop of Amsteel. I move it up to each of 3 sticks.
 
Contemplated all of the “necessary” purchases I needed to justify in order to be ready for all of the little changes that I “need” to make for next season. Yeah, I spent a whole lot of brain power on this one. Now I’m tired and need coffee.

On a serious note I have been playing around with putting together a minimalist early season and scout-hunt setup with 2TC as the climbing system. Getting the total weight of everything including my pack, all of my saddle gear, and such down in the 15-16 lb range without sacrificing safety and overall usability and comfort. The only other weight would be my weapon.

Time to start getting tuned back up. 30 arrows Saturday and about 20 Sunday.

forgive my ignorance, are those herbicides?
 
I recently bought a virtually new Wood saddle as my early season/backup. It came with an open Amsteel bridge connecting with a carabiner. Not a fan, so I ended up ordering a rope replacement from Hang Free. 8mm Oplux with a TRC sewn loop for the prusik. There were no instructions with the HF rope bridge, so I ended up going back to the website and looking at their photo, plus a very brief 'suggestion' on tying it up in the product description. It took me a couple tries, but I got it figured out and tested it last night a bit. With the addition of some saddle accessories I had in 'stock' from customizing my Overwatch saddle, the Wood is set up and ready for some real testing in the field.

If you wanted, I would have swapped out the open bridge for the standard one. Just curious if you the original or deluxe saddle?

I am a fan of the 8mm predator that hang free is selling. A great bridge option would be that or oplux (2 pieces, one at 38” long and one at 24”) with a 8” eye so you can girth hitch the sides. Tie the 24” into a Blake’s hitch onto the 38” long then tie a stopper knot on each. You get a strong and even adjustable bridge that isn’t amsteel and would be super easy to adjust

I knew a well regarded SH member built the Wood saddles and they received good reviews, so when I ran across this one virtually unused, I could not pass it up. No idea you still worked on them or had parts. Thanks for reaching out and I will keep you in mind if I have further questions. Below is a photo I took yesterday after replacing the Amsteel bridge with the HF 8mm Oplux version. Original version?
