What did you do today?

Not directly hunting related, but as of 3:45 PM today, became 100% debt free.

Used the Strick method of debt reduction and wealth building and turned a 20 year mortgage into 34 payments.

Great day today. Now to work on retiring early.

I mean, that mortgage payment could now go to a mother lode of hunting gadgets.

But in all seriousness, congratulations! We’re on pace to pay off our place in 3 more years. Cutting the 30yrs down to 7yrs. The bank will still end up getting more than enough money, but not nearly as much as they were hoping.

Tell me more about this "One Strick Method."

Do I need a cam cleat or a quick link?

I always said I was targeting 59.5 as my retirement age as a younger guy. That would December this year. House has been paid off for 10 years, kid's out of school, no debt. But frankly, I didn't think I was actually emotionally ready to stop working yet and was planning on working a couple more years just stashing acorns for the retirement winter . . . .until the tail end of this week that is. Now I'm seriously debating whether I'll make it to 59 . . . o_O. Yep, rough week at work. :(

Debt free is a noble goal! Hope I can get there sometime in the next 6 or 8 years. Have about 3.5 more years on my wife's car and 87k left on our house.

Of course now we are talking about building a dream house, as we now live in a pretty tired old ranch house in a flood plane. So I dunno how the debt reduction is gonna play out.

Im only 30 and my wife is only 27, so Im not in an urgent hurry but I dont want to be where my parents are when I get to their age.

Packed up a bunch of gear and stuffs. On the NC saddle Facebook page they posted up about the tethred teach and train. Signed up hoping to take my other buddy Daryl but he’s in call. So me and Darren (my son) are going to help set up and volunteer for the day. Bow. Saddles. Sticks. Platforms. BG spray. Cooler. Maybe targets.

Anyone in NC headed to Madison tomorrow?

Thanks. Ha, yes it could become the mother lode of gadgets, I really like the idea of exiting the rat race a little early too.

Turns out scouting, climbing and shooting can wait…

Ya know, surfing those waves is great shoulder exercise. For deer hunting of course...

Worked up some loads for my momma’s Remington 700 chambered in .243… .460” inch group at 100 yards ought to kill a deer

That's pretty much the exact load I used to use in my 6mm and .243. Only difference was I should the Nosler Partions in all my rifles. Put one in a deer's ribs out to about 250 yards or so and they are toast. HeHe!
Partitions are basically impossible to find right now. I have a few .30 cal boxes left, but nothing in .243 otherwise that’s what I would have put together for her…big Partition fan. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

I shoot the 165gr. NP in my Browning A Bolt 7mm mag. Taken several moose and dozen or more deer with it and they don't go far if at all.
