Where the skys are so blue!
I've been fooling with the youtube channel for about a year and a half now. It's been incredibly fun and very humbling to see the support folks have given it. The idea that folks have clicked "play" on those videos over 3,000 times in the past two days is absolutely mind-blowing.

I've got enough content up and it's been up for long enough that I've noticed some trends. The most obvious is that y'all seem to REALLY like the gear review videos. So here's my question.

What gear do you want to see reviewed, and what kind of information are you usually looking for in review videos? What's valuable to you? I'd love to be able to give every product a full season of hunt time before I did anything with it, but that's just not possible. Unboxing videos seem to be the other end of the spectrum and I personally find them worthless, but apparently folks watch them because the few I've done perform well. So what counts as a good review period? A hunt or two? 4 or 5? I generally feel I can say I either like or don't like a piece of gear after a good weekend of using it, but that's just me.

I'm open to feedback on what you want reviewed and what you want to see mentioned in those videos. And, in the off chance that any of you have some extra gear lying around that you'd be willing to let me borrow a week or two, shoot me a PM. I have accepted freebies and discounts from companies in the past, but prefer not to go that route in order to avoid bias (real or perceived) and because I'd rather see the companies make money selling product for the asking price.

And...just so y'all know...I did order a wireless lapel mic. :) Took me long enough, right?

Analysis paralysis.

It's the host finding the market segment that best resonates to their personality.

Just get some gear, and jabber about it.

Ya think you'd do just as well running a kids toys unboxing channel, or make up reviews?

Tree hopper tree suit, scout on a stick, and DanOs lineman’s belt/battle belt combo. I have them and you can borrow them for two weeks since I have to work the first two weeks of season. I can drop it off Sunday if you’re around.

I have 3 IPAs I will include for your Beer and Gear review.

Hey if your going down there. Lol
Can take my bow so Nick can change the modules out, hook up the drop away, time everything and tune my bow????
And he can review the process!!! Bwahahahaha
As long as it’s back in a week! Lol.

See you in a tree, Ricky

New Tethrd One sticks....good luck finding some to review though. I was thinking about saving for them but looking at what I've seen online thus far, looks like the steps are very close to the tree and might be an issue for big feets.

I'll take you up on it. :) We'll be out of town this weekend but are coming back Sunday afternoon.

The mic will make it videos.much better....I usually watch on my phone and I gotta turn volume all the way up....

I'd like to see some of the bow tech content u have mentioned before...

I don't really watch gear reviews....but I like some good hunt footage if u willing

I like how original you are with your content. You are easily able to understand and relate to. Also your videos make me feel like im right there with you while you teach or review something.

I might not do exactly what you do but I will pickup what I like and use it to for my setups.

Other things id like to see from you are tips and tricks to make things easier for climbing or setting up.
DIY saddle gear

Keep doing your thing, huntin video, boat video, gear review, this years saddle setup. Just rock and roll, and when you find which videos get more views and better reactions find a way to do more of them.

Yes the battlebelt/LB combo and can you couple that with a RCH and sitdrag? How you would rig them up. Does the Battlebelt have to be connected to the sitdrag some how. Does it have to be connected to the RCH? Those types of stupid things I can't figure out.

Yeah I’m not a fan of unboxing either. If someone opens something up and starts talking all about how great it is I will usually click on something else. I’ve been enjoying your videos! I love unbiased reviews. Honest opinions. And somebody who has actually used a product. If it’s an honest person who reviews a new product and shared there thoughts on it that’s cool to. I just got a canoe so I’m interested in that stuff.

I don't know if it's possible but I notice u mentioned a couple times that u are friendly with some old timers local around u who have been long time outdoorsmen..... Interview or maybe go fish or hunt and learn some knowledge would be cool
I'd love to do that, but most of the old river rats would rather you just kill them than talk on a camera.

I figure with ur gift of rambl....... I mean gab, u talk them into submission.... :)

Side note: speaking of knowledge from old timers,......my dad's buddy has this series of books and they are awesome! Collection of how too do things the old fashion way and stories from the hills of Appalachia.... Wanna know how to make a wagon wheel, weave a basket, wooden shingles for ur cabin, or the what and how of chimney design and how to construct. I keep hoping I received the series for Christmas.... Guess I'm on the naughty list

You know what would be awesome? A video detailing how to the details of how to effectively climb, drill, and descend with bolts. I can’t find a good video anywhere. How to measure spacing, finding previously drilled holes, etc.

Since you're kinda boaty, and I'm really not...

I don't have room for a kayak or canoe, or budget for a nucanoe. As often as not I hunt alone, and can't manhandle a heavy craft off a truck, etc. But I've just stumbled across plenty of bass fishermen using an inflatable intex seahawk (2,3 or 4) with a rigid floor added, a cooler or seat of some kind and a trolling motor mounted, for fishing. Inflatable, one-man do-able seems closer to reality for me.

I'd like to know your take on how it'd do for river/lake access, holding gear, a deer, etc... Noisiness, puncture worry, inflation/deflation quiet pump/electric pump options, other experienced boat-guy observations & considerations, etc.

I may end up doing it anyway, soon as you can find the dang things again... seems the pandemic wiped out stock near me. Just found NO coverage of the concept for hunting access on youtube.

Do a review on the new mic.
the tough thing about gear reviews is gear requires a lot of time and financial resources. We’re all gear junkies so we love to watch gear reviews. You can do unboxing videos with first impressions and a later follow up with final thoughts. You can just jibber jabber also as everyone seems to enjoy it.
