What do you think of this camo pattern?

Way too hot right now to field test this, but I got home yesterday from a week-long fishing trip and was tickled to see it on my door step.

First thoughts...I dig it. Hood is big and it has the hoodie pocket. Obviously quiet since it's fleece. I think it'll be an awesome early-season outer layer.

I'm killing some deer in this thing this year.
Now you look like a proper predator!

So I've found my way here (and to your website) based on your posts in "The sun giving you away" thread.

I like how your camo pattern performs in the ASAT comparison, but I have some feedback that might make the garments even better.

1. I don't see a high nap or even a brushed nap on your garments. Maybe that's just a matter of not having one in person to examine, but I can say that to my eye there is no exterior texture. Like the fur in the Leopard images on your website, a better nap would enhance the pattern imo. The EVII Sitka Fanatic is an example of a high nap material while the Stratus uses more of a brushed fleece. I mention those as examples because most are familiar with them. I have an old hoody by Whitewater that had a bark cut pattern on the face of a high nap camo. If you could do something like that with your fabric, it would be money, imo. Here's a pic:

2. Yellow. You've got too much of it, imo. I have the same criticism of ASAT. Studies have shown deer can see color in the yellow spectrum, so I'd recommend neutralizing that some in your garments towards brown-grey.

Food for thought.

I agree with @Plebe on the nap. I think texture is under-utilized for concealment.

I'm not sure I agree with his thoughts on the yellow. That particular shade of tannish-yellow is pretty ubiquitous in many environments. I see it on fish, birds, and mammals, as well as on dead flora throughout many of my local biomes.

For what it's worth, my uncle is a longtime trad bow hunter and after he had a good chuckle and made the obligatory Tiger King joke, he asked for a link to the website. He said it'd be perfect for most of the places he hunts.

Thanks for the feedback! I have a Cabelas coat in what they call Berber Fleece. I agree that texture would help. Clouded leopard also have the texture of their fur which works to their advantage. I would like it if my fabric supplier had that option but they currently do not. Polartec fleece is the best choice they offer. I do have one hoodie that I call "Yellow Tan" where I tried to emulate the light yellow/tan color in ASAT. The tan in my other hoodies comes directly from photos of the actual cats. I believe the reason the tans work in nature is because they read as a very light brown that is not white. White is a signal to deer and they can pick it off very easily. Also in the pattern are a middle brown and the black of the shadows. Interestingly, and I think not coincidentally, another tree predator, the python, has a similar arrangement of colors in its pattern. The thing I like about the clouded leopard is that its breakup pattern has high contrast and big spots. When it is in a tree, it looks like vines or branches highlighted in the sun (light tan parts) with shadows being cast (black parts). I was amazed at how it makes you look like part of the space between the branches in a tree instead of a big blob.

BTW. I can't self promote in the general area so that's why it a little hard to find me here in the vendor area. That shouldn't stop you guys from mentioning the pattern if you like it though... Just sayin. This season will be one of experimenting. However, I know from my experience with ASAT, which is somewhat similar, deer will look right at me and not understand what they are looking at and stay relaxed.
