I’m using hawk helium sticks and a predator platform. I’m wanting to upgrade to a easier and quieter attachment method.
Which do you prefer?

I’m not running a predator but in terms of stick attachments I’m liking my rope mods, they are. Bit slower than cam nickels but are much quieter

Amstel daisy chains for steps, still using the tetherd belt for the platform…. I haven’t found anything better for the platform. I’ve tried several different things.

That’s what I was afraid of. What all have you tried for the platform? I hate the buckle straps, but I don’t want to waste money trying new things.

I use the daisy chain webbing from EWO. Light, simple, quiet and super cheap. Rock solid on the tree.
Do you use it on the platform and sticks? I tried it with sticks and had issues getting them tight. It saga a lot and the bottom of the sticks are able to kick out.

I tried the USA platform attachment, it just doesn’t get tight enough, imo. Tried a rope mod… there’s just too much slack for me. The buckles are the best thing for the platform. They get tight with no slack.

I have the same set up. Also struggling with figuring the best way to pack in my sticks. I do have the amsteel daisy chain on the sticks and love it. I actually don’t mind the ratchet on the predator. I just camo’ed it up and probably going to leave it the way it is for now.

With the webbing straps the key is that you must angle the stick/platform when attaching and then straighten and pull tight. You can also use the same technique the amsteel daisy chain guys use to loop back through a loop and take out the slack.

I’m also having trouble finding a way to carry sticks and platform. I don’t want to carry a pack just to carry them.

What kind of pack are you using? I have a timber hawk big basin backpack, nothing special but it does have a perfect pouch on the front for the predator. Not sure how to hold my sticks though and that is my problem, was thinking a ratchet or some kind of strap. Or a new bag lol but trying to get by with this one for this season at least

I just have a cheap Walmart camp pack. It has straps on sides, front and bottom but it’s so flimsy that it doesn’t work well. I used a bow sling to carry my sticks. It worked well but didn’t help with the platform.

up until I bought my Kuiu I was using a military assault pack. It’s just a beefier backpack with decent compression straps. Works well for short hikes but hot to be a pain for longer days in foot.

I'm gonna try my diy version of a U.S.A. pro mod. Its a 1/4" amsteel with a 1/8" swabisch and a H.F.A.S. prusik and tender for one handed operation. It gets super tight to the tree and is rock solid once you toe cam itScreenshot_20220827-194512_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20220827-194613_Gallery.jpg
