What saddle do you have n why

I have three saddles. I bought the Kestrel first because it looked like it's built like a tank and it is. Then I got the Mantis because it was light but couldn't get comfortable in it so I sold it. Then I got the Kite because it was light and though it comfortable it not as comfortable as the Kestrel. I just got the Aero Hunter Merlin because it's very adjustable. I only hung from it a couple of times so I'm still not sure. Know I see this saddle made by Jamie the Transformer, looks awesome! I like the way you can adjust it so you don't need a back band. So it looks like that's next.

Maybe a suggestion is to let people know where your live. Then maybe meet and see if you like the saddle. some saddle makers have a try before you buy, or a 30 day return policy.

Right now I have a couple phantoms, a kite, and a jx3.
Comfort is subjective but being comfortable enough is very important to me. I’ll trade a little comfort for stealth, weight, and ease of use but I won’t be uncomfortable.

Weight isn’t as big an issue as being able to wear it in. If course all things being equal the lighter it is the better it should wear in. I can’t stand having to pull up my saddle every few steps all the way to the tree. There’s always suspenders but I’ve found with the right saddle they aren’t necessary.

I’ve got to feel safe in it. For you that may mean every buckle, strap, stitch and camo pattern needs to be climbing rated. For others that may mean a homemade saddle with plastic buckles. You have to evaluate the risks you are willing to take. You need to include an assessment of your size, fitness level, and climbing method to help make those decisions. When in doubt its better to have a saddle that’s been tested.

I want it to be quiet. I intend to spend some time in the ess and treehopper sling this spring but really don’t see me adding metal to my setup unless they offer an almost magical comfort improvement. I’m already comfortable enough in a saddle that’s lighter, quieter, and wears in better.

For me safety is number 1. My first, and only for a long time, saddle is the Kestrel. I like it and still use it as everything is heavy duty/climb rated.

Last year I bought a Recon because of the reported comfort and price point. Hunted out of it a few times. It is comfortable, but I can't say I felt as safe as in my Kestrel.

I have no plans to add any more saddles. To me there are a couple major styles, but there's only so much that can vary within that category. Personally, it's usually the climbing method that makes or breaks the experience for a given hunt.

Recon because it is light, comfortable and wears well into the woods. Also it was $100 used and apparently it is lucky judging from the season that just ended.

JX3 because I got a super sweet deal on a Gen2. Haven't had enough time to tell you why other than the price I paid.

Between those two, I think I have the saddle spectrum covered.

Whatever saddle you get my main recommendation is to use a bridge system that lets you adjust where it locks into your bridge loops.

This was far and away the biggest comfort increaser I have found with saddles. I was ready to ditch saddles entirely until I tried this. I have a DIY kestrel and a DIY method, both now have this style bridge. For short sits I will probably stick with the Kestrel, for longer sits the Method gets the nod because you can raise the top panel into your lower back and not have to pack in an extra piece of gear with the kestrel.

I have only ever worn one so I wouldn't know if there are others that are more comfortable. I can say this... It wasn't comfortable at first but once I spent a little time in it and figured out where I set my tether height and bridge length it became comfortable. So I guess what i'm getting at is you really can't tell how comfortable it will be until you use it a bit.. just my 2 cents.

Comfort.
Maneuverability.
Walking.

After trying most saddles currently offered I have discovered I am not a fan of pleated saddles. After a short time you feel the main frame straps of the saddle causing pressure points. Pleated saddles usually give that crap in the pants feeling walking in. Some better than others.

I have tried all the 2 panel saddles on the market and I just struggle to find comfort for any sustainable amount of time and find myself squirming around more in 2 panels.

I prefer single panel saddles. My favorite saddle is the Latitude Classic. It’s simple, lightweight and very comfortable. I attribute that to the vertical straps distributing load better alleviating the pressure of the straps I feel with other saddles.

Size 2 kite that I feel is to big and I can’t maneuver in. Pretty sure you’ll see it in the classifieds soon.
medium recon that I’m currently trading for a small that will hopefully make it better, feel like I’m always messing with it to find the right spot. But when you find it, it is extremely comfortable.
latitude classic. My favorite so far. Love the simplicity, detachable leg straps and overall comfort. Zero fiddle factor
Definitely will be trying some more this offseason.

Anyone have a Trophyline Covert Lite? kind of intrigued by it. For $200 and military discount I might have to try one out while I’m trying to get an order in for a TX5 or Transformer. I’m pretty new to the game and have only sat in a Phantom to hunt and have a Recon as well but haven’t sat in it much.

Welcome from Central Illinois! I got an Aero Flex and it's very comfortable and well built. Not looking for another. I added a battle belt from Dano above it and fastened that to a military chest harness to support the walk in and fasten all of my gear to. It is not light but is what works for me. That is what you have to find out, What works for YOU!

Wild Edge Berserker. Only reason I bought is because on the thread about it there were a bunch of questions about what it was/would be, so I bought one to find out. So far it does what it says and keeps my butt from taking the express route to the bottom of the tree. It is comfortable tho...

I have 3.
i have a treehopper ultimate which in my opinion same as an aeroflex flex which i slso have. The treehopper is for sale
i also have an original trophy-line from back in day.

I have a TX5. Why? I tried to go cheap with a sit drag/rch. I spent an hour in the tree and the hip pinch and uncomfortable level were unbearable. I did my research and I couldn't find a bad thing at all about TX5. I talked to Matt for over an hour on the phone. He never once tried to sell me, just asked questions about what I wanted, what would work for me, etc.... I have not even looked for another saddle, because this one is so comfortable.
