What target for inside the house?

Want to keep my shoulder in shape during the off season and would like to shoot in the house but don't want holes in the wall.

Any suggestions on what kind of target would be good?

one where you can shoot all 6 sizes and big enough to rotate around the faces so you don't create any soft spots

i made a gigantic bag target out of a construction debris bag from lowes stuffed with plastic bags, it stops anything....but took forever to fill out and weighs like 50 lbs

I have a similar one to this from Rinehart. It will stop anything I can imagine you tossing at it. I believe it is rated for up to 400fps but I didn't immediately find this information when I searched the web for confirmation

my much smaller rinehart (18 to 1 or whatever the many sided one is called) will stop any fixed blade head all day

so, a bigger rinehart made out of the same stuff should have no problem with field points, so long as op doesn't shoot in the same spot/angle all the time

Best field point target I've found. This is the large one. Two finger pull.

I've been using this one for years in my basement. Have put thousands of shots through it. Only 4 sided but it seems indestructible. Dart board on one side,, deer vitals, standard dots, and pool balls. Heavy sucker! Not sure if it is still available. Maybe with different branding? Pics of top and one side.

You can get a 4x6 piece of Horse stall mat and use that as a safety net should you get an arrow penetrate a bag target. You can cut the mat to about any size you want. Let it hang free on the bottom and that will further dissipate any energy left over in an errant arrow. I think there are videos of guys shooting these mats by themselves with high draw compounds and the arrows didn't go through. They also make good backing for small haybale targets outside.

Blob target. Mine is old af, taken 100s of shots from actual hunting broadheads and looks like it’s got years left of service.

most understand target. Incredible value

Rinehart for sure - have used inside a bunch. Want to try the IronMan or something similar for the garage setup. Shooting 550 grain Vaps with outserts makes target decisions tough though

Walk On Archery Lil John Tower is what I have. Its a little pricey but man this target is TOUGH!! I have had it for about 5 years now and have shot the crap out it and there's nowhere on the target that I'm even the least bit worried about an arrow getting through it.

For field points I found bag targets really do take a beating. But if your willing to spend, I can’t recommend the matrix enough, I put about 400 shots into one module with BHs and that cell is only about halfway through it’s life. If you do shoot it out, rotate it with another and replace the cell for $40.

I'm liking the Matrix targets.

But the blob target is a tank.

And I'm pretty sure my Dad uses the Big Shot Extreme 500, and it stops x-bow bolts dead. Easy removal. He's shot it alot.

No matter what you choose, go big. Maybe backup with something like compressed cardboard too.

I have one on a 4x6 as a back stop and have shot through it, into the wall of my shed a couple times. But I'm shooting a 550 grain arrow at 285 FPS, so that may be the exception and not the rule.

Just received a Sevr blem 21" and have to say for the money it's taking arrows as good as the 18-1 from Rinehart. Blems are 159 right now with the "nicer" arrow stopper going for 199 - free shipping on both. Time will tell but I think I found my favorite garage target. Stall mats work great for backstops but they don't stop arrows without them penetrating a good bit especially with broadheads. Mine is about 2 yrs old and will still stop everything that misses the target, what I hate is having to clean the melted rubber off the shafts. It does keep errant shots from reaching the neighbors though

I’ve had a matrix for 2 years now and wish I could say I’ve had the same experience. Mine seems to wear out much quicker than a block ever did. Bought some new modules and had arrows going through in a week. An arrow hits and blows chunks out of the back. I’ve had blocks, rhineharts, matrix, spiderweb (nightmare), and homemade. Haven’t found the right one yet.

Tossing out another option. The rag bag from third hand. Stuff it with old clothes people are throwing out and it works great. I’ve put a few hundred shots into it and it’s still ticking. Every time my wife or I throw out a shirt or whatever I just stuff it inside. When the bag gets torn up, just replace the case and reuse the insides so it’s fiscally responsible
