That's my experience the cordura holds the pleat better though I never tried it with that particular saddle.
I’d go to a size 2I might have missed it, but can anyone speak on first hand experience with sizing for the Merlin? I’m a 34-36 in britches. Will a size one be sufficient or should I move on up to a two?

I think one. I wear a size 32-36 waist depending on layers, and 5.5’ tall at 185#. I have a size one. That sucker is still kinda big on me.I might have missed it, but can anyone speak on first hand experience with sizing for the Merlin? I’m a 34-36 in britches. The variety of response above shows why aerohunter uses their specific size system. It’s not about waist size, it’s about your measurement around the belly button.I might have missed it, but can anyone speak on first hand experience with sizing for the Merlin? $200? Not much of a closeout
I’m a 34 waist and the size one is a tad small for me. The old school flex size 2 swallowed me though.I think one. I wear a size 32-36 waist depending on layers, and 5.5’ tall at 185#. I have a size one. That sucker is still kinda big on me.
If you wear really bulky clothes maybe a two would be okay but I think in stock configuration you might fit better in a one.
I should have mentioned, my sizing is based off a Kestrel OG. It may be a little different for their newer models because the webbing frame is on the inside and formatted a little differently. I can cinch my sz 1 Kestrel over a set of layered pants/bibs and a parka and still have 8-10” of tag-end on the waist belt. It’s the leg straps that I usually have to let out slack from though, or it “rides small” on me.I’m a 34 waist and the size one is a tad small for me. The old school flex size 2 swallowed me though.
Yea that OG flex size 2 was massive. The newer ones are scaled down a little. Not much but definitely a size 2 Merlin is smaller than a size 2 OG flexI should have mentioned, my sizing is based off a Kestrel OG. I’d say the Merlin size 2 is also slightly smaller than the kestral flex size 2.Yea that OG flex size 2 was massive. The newer ones are scaled down a little. Not much but definitely a size 2 Merlin is smaller than a size 2 OG flex
The website is functioning. There’s a disclaimer that inventory is low. I ordered a Merlin last Wednesday. Monday I still hadn’t received a shipping confirmation so I sent an email inquiry and received a reply that stated they had to check if they had it in stock and would either ship it on Tuesday or issue me a refund. I didn’t hear anything so sent another email inquiry yesterday around lunchtime. Still haven’t heard back. I tried calling the phone number and it’s disconnected. I just sent another email request cancellation of the transaction and a refund. Buyer beware. I’ll update this when I hear something, or if I don’t hear anything at all.
Waist size is not a good way to select the right fit of aerohunter… check out their sizing guide. In the event it actually arrives…what’s your waste size? I’m a 35 and ordered a 1
