1. Going to a one stick with attached platform AND a 2TC system with a ROS instead of one stick with a separate platform
2. May incorporate climbing spikes for some private land opportunities
3. Will hunt more rough country
4. Will hold out for a 3.5-4.5 year old on my go to private land setups
5. Will try to scout and hunt more public land bucks to keep pressure off my private land setups
6. Continue to rappel down
7. Purchase more game trail cameras (cheapies) and plaster them on my key spots. Already purchased four more plan on running 12 this year maybe 16.
8. Scout
9. Scout
10. Scout

I found a nice piece of public where I rarely see people.. I’m going to put less time into stalking my way in and one offing hunt and more effort into learning this piece of land... also get more efficient with my we steps and k/s and incorporate a repel kit

Gear wise: Got a good deal on a Jx3. That's the only new gear I see trying.

Hunt wise: Get a couple more archery hunts in. I only went twice before gun season. Spooked a doe from bad setup. Would like to get 1 or 2 with the crossgun before the powerbelts are deployed.

Really increased my efficiency in the woods by holding off until January to really get after it. Good was I killed two nice bucks. Bad I was out of the deer woods until January.

I’m going to stop passing on good shots on a buck while waiting for a great shot. I’ve learned the hard way bucks don’t often cross the threshold of good to great shot! I passed a couple of bucks and one very good buck by being picky and waiting for a larger buck in the back to walk up, or waiting for 5 more steps to go from a good shot to a great shot. I’ll take the doggone GOOD shot next time!

- More pre sets with Treehopper and grade 8s

- Repel

- At least 1 water access hunt

- Pass on less does! The SH community rallied behind my “can I butcher?” Thread to help me out and now I can butcher and I learned I love to butcher so not having a $150 butcher bill looming over every shot means bad news for does and good news for my freezer!

If you have not butchered yet I would encourage you to add this to your 2021 list!

Gear wise I might change my bow string.

1 thing I want to do next year I been cyber scouting for a while and making sure I understand and follow the rules correctly...I want to take off 2-3 days + the weekend in archery season and do a canoe camp hunt trip. In this particular wma u are allowed to camp pretty much anywhere in the forest during off season and archery. A week living out the boat chasing deer sounds fun and I'm going to really try to get it done this coming year.

I just picked up a small 1.5 acre urban archery spot near my mother in law's house (3.5 hours away). That means my season now starts the first weekend of Sept. Throw some cameras and presets up soon and see if I can't fill the doe freezer before archery season actually starts.

Not miss.

I will practice shooting from a saddle with my slug gun.

Other than that, I’m looking for a decent crossbow to expand my window. This being my second year I think my scouting will be more effective, I found the deer but didn’t understand how many folks would be on public land with me.

Gear wise:
I have settled with bolts when legal and sticks when it’s not
Going to use ROS for rifle and hybrid stand/saddle for bow when I am not hiding in CRP/bushes on a bucket or a preset DIY platform or Walmart special hang on

Hunting wise:
I have deer season mostly dialed in...may hang pre sets on private land and try to acquire more access and also thinking about using game cameras for the first time...ever

“One-sticking,” but not as it’s typically meant. Plan to start from the ground with a stick with a 3-step aider and then use bullman steps from there.

Otherwise closing the deal is the biggest thing. In years past, I usually failed to be in the right place to have an opportunity. This year I had a bunch of opportunities but failed to execute. It boils down to recognizing the first good window and then shooting accurately

I'm going to physically scout some of it this off season and if it something I'm able to do u are more than welcome to come and really get to enjoy camping in the Florida swamp.... It'll be miserable but fun at the same time. As it gets closer to that time and if it looks like it's a go I'll send u all the info for an outta stater....

Just remember....

just picked up a new Mathews so that will be different. I noticed three different cracks on my limbs half way through archery season. I figured i only need it to hold for 1 to 2 shots (which it did) so I continued to hunt with it.

I also want to loose some LBS 20 to 30 or more if possible and start one sticking.

More presets!
More scouting after season....(in progress now)
Enjoy hunting near home more......out of state hunts aren't as fun as they used to be. (Arthritis)
Family and friends are what makes my seasons better anyway!

Keep learning and use that to my advantage. Definitely stop trying to hint like some of these bs youtube influencers
Hunt a ton of more mornings than i have in past.
Kill deer with recurve
Find what works for me in my areas.
And Enjoy the ride.
Also I want to hit at least 65 hunts next season
That would put me over double wat i was able to do this year
