What's your tack container

i make my own reflectors that aren't sharp and can be stuffed anywhere

they are a length (6" or so) of blaze orange ribbon with reflective tape on each end of the flagging, reflective tape is doubled over the end and stapled, and then a long twist tie in the middle to attach to branches

these are visible day and night

I wasn't asking what I should use for reflective trail markers, I was asking the people who do use tacks if they had a system for carrying them that was not fumbly. Pill or film containers have lids that can be dropped, lost, or continually taken off and on. Those are not horrible options but I assumed there are better alternatives.
I'm kinda surprised that there isn't something similar to a firearm magazine (Pez type dispenser). Spring loaded, dispense single tack at a time, no rattles. Maybe something for you 3D printer guys to invent?

Yep, “you can just stick a few in your pocket.” Nothing more convenient than eliminating the container altogether.

Empty dip can with some cotton balls to keep them from clanging. I also use them sparingly and have never purchased any, it seems they grow prolifically in the wild around these parts.

I do like the cork idea though I may steal that one. I already use burnt corks on the rare occassion I am ground hunting and use facepaint, they could serve double duty.

Reflective tape on clothes pins put in a dump pouch on my frame pack. Grab and clip while blood trailing.

I have used 35mm film canister and cardboard in the past when I was using tacks. I like the cork idea though.

I keep them in the original plastic container which almost ensures they’ll fall out. Nothing like jabbing one into the end of your finger or if you’re lucky cutting yourself on the plastic blister pack. Im going to find some wine corks now. I knew one day my SH membership would pay off.
