Which saddle?

I know this is probably an impossible question to answer, but I am going to be purchasing my first saddle in the near future. I want to have plenty of time to use it and get comfortable shooting prior to next season.

The main reason I am switching from a tree stand to a saddle is I have developed some lower back pain mainly from sitting in my lone wolf assault hang on. I have read that a saddle can really help people with back issues. I've read and watched tons of articles and videos of different saddles and I am mainly concerned with comfort.

I reached out to John from Tactisaddle and he suggested his adapt DBDS model. He said the extra back band would really help the lower back pain. I was also reading alot about the Cruiser XC and how comfortable it is.

Can you guys steer me in the right direction? Are there other models I should be looking at as well?

Thanks in advance!

My saddle experience over 3 years

Sitdrag
Mantis
Tactisaddle
H2
Treehopper Recon
Cruzr XC =‘s the best

Out of all of those the Tactisaddle was the worst. Nice guy great customer service but hurt like hell.

The only way I found to be comfortable in my original tactisaddle is when I added the drey. Now they r all I use out of the other 3 I own

Thanks for all of the responses. I really appreciate the info. I'm definitely not in a hurry, so I'll explore some of these options and see if I can get my hands on some. I'm excited to see how this will work for me.

I did a ton of saddle research and have concluded that there is a reason that every saddle is compared to the Cruzr XC. I have never seen a review or forum thread that did not have the XC close to the top. If you go to YouTube and type in "Cruzr Xc vs" you will see multiple comparisons and the XC seems to win most of them. Then type in "Saddle hunting saddle comparisons" you will find dozens of comparison videos, again, the XC is at the top of every comparison video. Sure, some guys will prefer different saddles but the majority have the Cruzr XC among the best.

I started out with AeroHunter Flex. Was comfortable and felt safe. Then I bought a regular Tactisaddle before the improvements. I must say the Tactisaddle was better for me comfort wise. I am considering buying a new one that has all the improvements. Comfort is gonna be one of those things what works for me may not work for you. Tons of options now to choose from these days do lots of research.

I think if you search this vs that. That is what you will find. Never tried a cruzer so can’t speak to it. I see a lot for sale like every saddle. That tells me different saddles for different folks.

Tons of good info here. I think I'll wait and see if the central pa get together pans out. Hopefully there will be several different saddles I can try and see what will best work for me.

In my drey at the moment. Snug as a bug and have all the back support in the world. Also super light. Always been curious about the JX3 but I can’t justify the cost lol.
