Who else Ordered a Wild Edge PERCH ?

I will add that I was not happy with my WE steps until I switched to to 1/4 amsteel. Had I not done that earlier in the week, I would not have even considered the Perch. Seeing a 2.25 lb platform vs 3.5 or so for the Predator too hard to ignore. Hoping this works as well as advertised now.

Haven't ordered one (yet). I'm a successful WE climber but focusing on 1-stick and DIY 3-stick this year and the Perch doesn't really fit my plans. If my stick adventure flops then maybe I'll be ordering one for 2020.

One thing I would point out to those comparing the weight of the Perch (with required WE step) to other platforms is that you have to consider that you can use the WE step to climb, not just as a platform. So IMHO it is better to compare the 1.25 lb weight to the alternatives rather than the 2.25 lb weight including the necessary WE step.

Hard to beat 5.25 lbs to get to 24ish feet (assuming Kn/Sw) and have a platform for your feet.

Food for thought.

You can’t really use the same step you are using as a base for the perch to climb any more than using the predator platform to climb.

I ordered a perch first to support a saddle hunting company and two to compare to the predator. Using the perch will require me to carry an additional step as opposed to the three I already do. With my predator im able to get an extra 2 plus feet without carrying that extra step so it does alter things for me. I will see how it goes but either way perch or predator will not go unused by any means.

Not trying to be confrontational, but how ya figure?

I use my plywood insert on my top step after climbing up on the step. Install top step at 5-6 feet from step you are standing on. Climb up. Install tether. Lengthen tether and/or bridge. Install platform in step, then step back up.

Not sure I see how it is different, but then again I don't own a Perch to compare.

I see you're from WI, if u don't mind me asking what part...I'm from WI (Greendale).... If you're close and want to try it once u receive your steps let me know...
I'm in Green Bay. Thanks for the offer! I just got the notification my stepps are shipping this week. I'll have to stretch my ropes and get used to the stepps first then may consider the perch.

Not confrontational at all. You could hook knaider/swaider or five step aider to the predator to accomplish the same 5-6 foot. You can do the same with a ring of steps.

I gotcha. I never thought of those that way before. Makes perfect sense though. I haven't heard of people climbing with those platform systems, but that doesn't mean that they don't, or at least can't. So many ways to get up the tree!
