Who still uses their Klemz platform?

I am wondering how many are still using their Klemz platforms and if so how is it holding up? Has anyone had any klemz platform failures?
Thanks
Kyle

I love my Klemz platform. This is my first year of saddle hunting and I had quite a few sits. Does everything I need it to do. I knew keeping that old school Lone Wolf would be worth it someday.

I’m still using mine without issue! I must say that I have been preferring to use the cut down stand lately. It’s nice to have more room for late season.

Still using mine. Sold my predator as I prefer my Klemz. Just about the same standing room and exact same weight but much quieter.

Good to hear that it is still a good tool to have in the arsenal. I bought the old seat last year and have been to busy/lazy to pick up the rest of parts to finish the klemz build. I will however accomplish it this off season!

@livewire69, @VF_MIKE, @Wirrex and @BassBoysLLP . Have any of you used your Klemz double duty as tree seat? Was thinking about this yesterday when was figuring what/how I would use shim to level my platform.
I was looking at it like it would best comfort wise to be used upside down if able to be strapped and leveled with before mentioned same shim.
Your thoughts?

I never have. Why not use your saddle at ground height?

Used mine as a tree seat one time and it worked fine right side up. I have a doublestep on the top of mine and the whole platform is wrapped in paracord so it was pretty comfortable. Doublestep acts like kind of a back rest.

This Klemz build is my first step towards saddle hunting. Without any saddle experience for comparison, I'm not sure I would want the restriction of movement from my tether if I was hunting from the ground. I guess I won't know until I try.

Make a fleece saddle for free from stuff laying around the house. Your only using it on the ground so it doesn’t need to be extremely safe. Then you will have an even better idea of the whole system.

I’ve been using my Klemz all season. This is my first season using a saddle or a platform. I can’t compare it to other platforms but I have really enjoyed using it. So far it has been great. The only disadvantage I see is it won’t fold completely flat. As soon as I make a Amsteel daisy chain for it I will be set.

I pulled this out yesterday to maybe sell it. I only used it for a very short time before the Predator came out. I put it away and decided I would try to sell it. I put it in the tree for pictures and discovered how easy it is to set and how well it cams over and bites the tree. Much more solid than the predator. Then I put my bulkiest hunting boots on and stood on it. Much more room and way easier to turn around on it than my predator. I decided this is my go to platform. It weighs just 12 oz more than the predator. It’s been sitting in my garage for two seasons waiting for me to rediscover it. Glad I did.

Always good to have plenty of tools in the tool box and sometimes that means some good ones get lost at the bottom! Glad you rediscovered yours!

I'll probably get hate replies/mail again - but guys I would be very, very cautious selling a DIY platform. To me it is a liability suit waiting to happen if someone gets hurt and i doubt you are covered in any existing insurance policy. haters can hate that fine, but I highly recommend just taking that one on the chin and dispose of it or break it down and sell the seat as a replacement part for a stand. Just my opinion. I know folks do it but man the potential for something down the road...……..
Sound advice! On this klemz build I used 6063 for post. I couldn't find 6061 locally and knowing I am only 165lbs I told myself if I beefed it up where need be I would be fine. Same time I told myself I would never sell with that post for the reasons you stated above. Hate to see somebody get hurt on account of my build.

My commercially produced platform broke out right from under me. Had to have a replacement sent. I’m good with this one. Just always be sure to tether in before climbing on.
