Looking for feedback, good and bad about hunting out of the Guido's web.

I bought a new one last year and used only it the entire season. I used it for probably 30 sits. It’s extremely comfortable (I literally laid flat back and slept in it) and safe.

The disadvantage, which doesn’t seem like a disadvantage if you been hauling in a climber, is the weight and bulk.

Because I used it all last year and got very comfortable hanging from a tree to hunt I decided to go with more portability this year. Now I’m weighting on my Mantis.

Pros- one of the most comfortable saddles out there. Fairly light weight. I modified the trees strap and bridge to using just two rope man ones. Good for all day or long sits. It’s very adjustable.

Cons- the metal buckets can be noisy if you are not extra careful. Also I have some concerns on it holding in scent in the seat cousin. I do not think you can machine wash it

Thanks for the feedback. What do you guys use for platform with the web?

Its my first year hunting with the GW. Combined with my sticks and using the Wild Edge Steps for my platform, I can get deeper and leave the general public behind. The weight savings compared to my climber is unbelievable. I will say it is hot in the early season. So I give it a bath with nonscented detergent in the tub, if you sweat a lot like me.

Looks like I'll be hunting with mine shortly but I have modded my some with an adjustable rope bridge and an adjustable hold off V. Most comfortable saddle made but the sacrifice is that of weight.

Pros, super comfortable and light with the right climbing method.
Cons, bulky, there’s too much going on with all the straps, and not as light as SD. Tail sometimes gets in the way or stabs your legs. More annoying than painful.
Last year I just kept my hooks on and kept them in the tree. This year I got a predator and some climber tops and bottoms I’ll try. Mainly I’m gonna hunt out of my SD.

Been hunting out of mine since 2011. for my platform I have used homemade climbpaws then went to bolts. Last year went with wildedge steps to climb and for the platform.

cons the linesman belt is not fun to use. Static climbing rope and a ropeman 1 and problem is solved. another con is the the tree tether I have the original and the improved one. I am going to take the web loop off of the new tether and use rope and a ropeman 1 for the new tether.

The biggest con that I have had is trying to transport my Wildedge steps and Guidos web to my tree. I am going to a Pack frame so I can set my Alps outdoorz pack with my wildedge steps and other goodies inside the pack on the meat shelf then my Guidos web on next. Then as the weather cools have space to tie on my heavy clothes to the pack also. This way I should have a comfortable hike into my tree.

The comfort of the Guidos web is outstanding for the hunt. And being as I will be turning 61 in a couple of weeks it is perfect for me.

I don' know if you guys know this or not you can haul stuff like clothing in the center of the web before you put it on, I haul my jacket and lunch in there, I plan on tieing it in so it doesn't fall out. The only down side that I see to the web is I can't change clothing while in it? I am usually hot by the time I get to the tree and then climbing the tree I get hotter and I would like to put on a sweater or jacket after I have cooled down, haven't figured that out yet.

Jackets aren't really a problem if you take off the shoulder straps and put them on then back with the straps. Pants are a no go for any saddle of course.

Hunted all last season out of the web. Comfort was hard to beat, and it was hot early season. But I fell a sleep a few times while I was suppose to be hunting. I have since purchase a Kestral just to see what the other side is like.

Anybody had problems with the GW "squeaking" near where the backpack straps attach to the back? It's not a really high-pitched squeak, but it sounds like heavy clothing or wet clothing rubbing together. Maybe like the cushion pad is squeaking against the thin plastic back piece inside the cloth. Seems like every small move I make, the GW is advertising my location.

It is very comfortable and if you have a bad back it's the way to go. It's a little heavy but I use a e-bike to get in an out of the woods so the weight is not a problem. It's great for all day sits but be careful you may not be able to stay awake.

I have not noticed mine have any noise. But I don't have the staps on after I'm tied in the tree. Mine is a 2017 model.
Mine is a 2014 model. I might see if I can find some unscented talc powder and "inject" it between the padding and plastic. I don't want to cut the fabric in any way.

I probably won't hunt out of mine till the temperature is under 60 for the highs. But I will listen closely to mine to see if I detect any noise.

No noise out of mine and very comfortable. I am 6'3 260 and found a medium cheap so I went for it. I am buying jx3 in a larger size next season.
