Who's Prepping? What Are You Doing Today?

FINALLY got out to one of my parcels and did some prep, trimmed some shooting lanes, made a mock scrape, put down some corn and big and j attractants. Hunt one of the new wild game innovations shadow cams, was on sale at Walmart. Has a cool gimbal attachment. We’ll see what’s in the area.

Why couldn't daylight savings time be reversed so we could have more daylight when we need it ie during hunting season, darn it!!!!

I practiced climbing and cut down some tent Caterpillar infested branches, they are bad here this year. It was a two for one activity.IMG-20200822-WA0001.jpg

Shooting practice, sight adjustment if needed, stealth stripping a camera and camera arm.
Thumb twiddling, waiting for Sept 26th!
One. More. Month.

I have visited my top spots and done a bit of trimming in them and fixed up a couple of creek crossings (log bridges) that I use to get in. I put mock scrapes in with hanging vines at two of them. I still have to check one more area where I have three big red oaks - reds are dropping nuts around here so I want to see if those are as well. Other than that, I am prepping for a moose hunting trip at the end of Sept...

Washed and hung out to dry my hunting clothes. Burned my new red LED head lamp for 8 hours to test battery life. once again stuck my ny Lacrosse boots out in the sun to kill the new rubber smell. Took five milkweed pods out of the dehydrator and bagged them. Wanted to but didn’t check trail cameras. Hung and shot from my saddle. Tomorrow start sharpening broad heads. Can you tell I’m going nuts till 9/12/20?

I went to the bow shop yesterday to pick up my bow. I had to get new cams and mods. Matthews sent the wrong mods,so the bow had been at the shop for almost three weeks. I was going to pick it up yesterday with some 30" mods the owner had,i shot 29.5 before. I was tired of waiting,i miss my bow. So he was trying to put the mods on and the one cam was for a halon x comp instead of a halon x. It was the wrong mod in a halon x labeled bag. So i had to leave the bow there awaiting a new cam.
I cant believe Matthews screwed up twice in one order.
I need to shoot,soon...
Hm,i sound like a junkie...

I get the same way. I brought my bow in for a new string, tuning and chrono back in May-ish time frame. I wanted to get it done early in the year because I knew I would be shooting every other day all summer til September opener.

I have been shooting a ton all year and what i don't need need right now is a month long hiatus one month before the season starts here. The only worse timing would have been the last month before opener or during the season. I guess the lesson is i should have been on top of getting the cams changed earlier, like in the winter or spring...But i didn't know they were messed up until summer,or how messed up they were.
