Why don't yall 2TC?

The Edelrid Alias 2 for example. 58g / 23kN / 80x65mm

cool thanks for sharing. Do you use these for your tree connection?

I think @Brocky shared these at some point.

I think some people avoid carabiners for tether quick connect/disconnect because they’re worried about cross loading, other people avoid metal everywhere they can to mitigate noise.

Yes.
With a fishermans on the bottom and covered by a neoprene-hoody its very hard to hit it with a second piece of metal. :)
Sounds like that would work. Can you share a picture of it when you get a chance? Where did you purchase your carabiners from?

From parazone.de.
There will be suppliers on your side of the pond too.

The hoodies where sewn by my wife. We use 2mm neoprene with camo printing.
Pics would be awesome if you can. Much fiddle factor in using the biner with the hoody on it?

So do you want someone...say me....to do a video review of them neoprene hoodie thingys... if you shoot me, say 4 or 6, I promise a rip roaring review! ;)

Cinching à tree and sideloading à corner are not the same geometry.there is no rated carabiner that will bend cinching à tree.safty gear is desighned to bend befor it breaks so you can inspect it visualy and take it out of service.i broke this cheep chinese carabiner over à corner of a curb with à sledge hammer.7 hits.the gate broke first .and it still holds my weight bouncing.Screenshot_20211228-134628_Gallery.jpg

Just kidding!

I came across this video today and if you 2TC and rappel down this might be of interest to you. I am still in the early stages of trying to 2TC but I will probably give this a try since I do rappel down. Dual tether climbing with one rope - YouTube
I hope the weather gets better soon so I can get outside and play.
I would use a bowline in the place of the figure eight follow thru.
