Wild Edge Rope Change Question

How will you connect that line to the step? Keep in mind tieing a figure 8 takes a good amount of rope. The beauty of the amsteel is you can splice it right to the step with minimal knot left behind.
 
Bought some Cranford rope steps. Took the ropes off to put the steps on a ratchet strap. Used the Cranford ropes to replace the Primal v-step straps, because I didn't like the metal buckles. But now the ropes are starting to wear and fray, so I am looking at potential replacements...
