Wild Edge Step Ladder Review from a Newbie

My son still use my old Keller pendulum sight. He loves it
Cool, never thought about upgrading? I got two, one for my right handed bow and one for my left handed bow. Will say that the sight picture with the Truglo pendulum is way better than the Keller. The fiber optic pin in the center of the glow circle in my opinion is way better than the narrower elliptical sight. I also understand that I am comparing a 10yr gap in technology.

I have a simple WE bag mod. First wild edge has a loop in the bottom of the bag. That loop has to much slack in it. The steps don't stack in the bag they nestle inside of each other. It's only one step thick all the way down, it doesn't matter how many you have in there. So the first thing I did is to sew the slack out of that bottom strap. That holds the first 4 steps nice and secure. Then I added a second strap inside the bag to receive my next 3 steps. The last part is to sew around the zipper so it can't slide all the way to the bottom.I have mine about 6 inches from the bottom. That also helps the steps from falling forward out of the bag, even with the ropes out over the front of the bag. If you stowed the ropes properly you don't need to pull the ropes out of the bottom of the bag to deploy them as you climb. I did end up cutting the bottom of my bag when I first saw that mod, tonight I will resew it closed because sometime they fall out when I walk in with the bag over my shoulder. I carry 7 steps that gets me 30 feet if I need it.

Here’s what I’ve used all season,(it may have been shown before) but I sewed the straps on as pictured. Undo the first strap to start out then just undo the straps as I use them out. Reverse when putting them back in the bag. I leave the zipper towards the bottom and never use it.28E19792-756D-4A4C-8C62-5D6342CD7224.jpeg208EB6CB-F353-46CB-9EAD-292E6957591E.jpeg

I see on a previous post that Pete also sewed the zipper. it works, no lie.

Just sewing the zipper about 4" from the bottom (about the location of the bottom step) was enough for me. I don't see myself needing to change/add the loops.

I really think I prefer home made sticks to anything.
I can now get over 25 feet to my platform with three homemade 24 inch sticks and a six step aider My sticks including cam cleats - 6 oz and stealth strips 3 oz weigh only 5.5 pounds.

Interested in your homemade sticks. Working on a project using API parts and 1/16 tubing I got from onlinemetals.com

What can you tell me about these cam cleats? Source? Price? Weight?

Ronstan carbon fiber cam cleats. I think the mediums are 49 g and the small are 29 g. The Mediums are rated for more weight.

Thanks. Sorry to hijack this thread, but couple more questions. Have you used 1/4 Amsteel with these cleats? Also, the 1" width small will fit on the 1"stick better, but has a weight rating under my weight. Mediums will stick out 1/16" on either side. Same as yours? Not a big deal and worth the extra security?

I have used both cleats this fall just to test them. The clear can go on the side of the stick if you wrap the tag end around the stick and then do your half hitches.
I don’t trust the small cleat so I use it on my bottom stick

And Amsteel does not work on the cam cleat. You can use 5 or 6 mm tech cord rated at 2 to 4000 pounds
