XOP Climber seat as climber and platform?

I have seen the drawings but not the actual pics. Looks great. Wonder what the “weight rating” would be. Also, any chance of an in use video?

Ok I did a little research and I think maybe 1” polyethylene flexible sprinkler pipe. The real thin wall stuff if you can find it by the foot. If anyone does please pm me I want to try some.
It doesn’t need to fit tight just go over the belt.

You can usually pick this stuff up a hundred foot at a time at Home Depot for ten bucks. If you don't want that much you can probably buy it by the foot from a local plant nursery or garden center

Well @20ftup told me at work last night there have been some questions about my HC setup so if you guys want I can take some more pics maybe a video of why I went this route and the benefits over the LW belt I can tell you what I settled on was the 3rd or 4th attempt/ design and a couple of trips to the hardware store before I got something that works my initial check list was not having to adjust on the way up for tree dia. ,Quiet, adjustable for a wide range of trees, easy to climb no matter how many winter clothes I have on ,easy to use and safe (I must be a saddle hunter if safety is my last thought lol) I will try to get those pics up soon when I get some free time

Thanks denots but with the new Summit mod the tubbing is obsolete. Thanks for the concern.

I realize that was from a couple months ago after I already posted it and continue to read.

Got a ropeman 1 in the mail tonight. What a game changer. Climbed 10ft in about 30 seconds on a leaner in the yard. Liking this over anything I've tried out so far in the yard. Field test to come this weekend.

I used my LWHC all gun season with a Ropeman1 on my tether and I agree it was the key to making the climbing process easier.

I would extend my tether by releasing Ropeman1, raise the tether as high as I could reach (careful to not get on tippy toes too close to front of platform). Cinch the Ropeman 1 as tight as possible (again on toes), sit in saddle and pull up knees to raise platform. Hands planted firmly in tree to keep my body off it. Stand up, cinch Ropeman1 again, sit and lift knees. Repeat.

Usually, it was two cinches per tether move. Sometimes three.

Loved the real estate on that platform, and loved the variability of hunting height. Also loved not having to take my backpack off and unload anything at the base of tree. Just hook the hand climber to tree, attach pull rope to weapon, and start climbing.

Did the mod like @sb220. Really helps with stability and doesn't make it any harder to climb. Super easy to set up once your up the tree where you wanna be. I know most folks are ok with how the hand climber is as is for a platform. This just gives me a little extra peace of mind without really compromising anything.

This was a trial run I made up using a bit in the drill at home to drill out the holes. Final run I'll use a drill press to have more accurately drilled holes and I'd like to add another bolt towards the back.

I was just thinking, I saw that video of the native guy climbing a coconut tree with a vine linemans belt and a vine strap between his legs. Would it not be possible to climb like this with the hand climber and adjustable linemans belt. Rather than sinching up and moving a tether every time?

Wondering what you guys think about this idea.

If I wanted to use the summit cables on my lone wolf hand climber top, could I just cut the tubing off the top of this summit climber stand and drill a hole in it to connect to the hand climber top?

If it is possible I don’t see it being faster, easier or safer than using a tether. I can’t see how this would work anyway.

Is it not what the native guy did essentially. Also the cutting the summit mod might work. I would be wary about the bolt connection. It would be hard for me to cut my sweet summit titan. Im gonna try the hand climber. If that doesnt work, Titan time. A few nights ago im pretty sire a does that came in upwind spooked when she smelt my
Climbing sticks. Particularly the amsteel rope that probably is covered in my hand scent. Gotta move away from sticks that stay at bottom of tree.

What would be sketchy about the bolt connection?

Just making sure it is tapped right and will hold you up.

I think if a guy set it up the same as how it is with the lone wolf tubing you'd be alright. Hard part would be cutting the tubbing off the summit $$$$$

I could maybe start a new thread for this question, but I figure anyone how can answer this question is probably watching this thread.

Has anyone tried a summit openshot climber top? Is it even possible?
