Dalton916 - I think they have been cut plenty of slack already - actually I think waiting almost 4 months is being extremely patient. And like you said - you have no dog in this fight so you can't really relate to what we are feeling.....If I had to only wait 6 weeks for a saddle like you are then I would have had my saddle at least a month before my season began and all would be well and I would be happy with that....
My main problem with this situation, and really the root of all the problems that I see with tethrd, is simply that saddles are not being manufactured with any - or very little - emphasis on order date. I understand they need to 'tool up' and do batches of saddles based on sizes, but Its just hard for me to believe the manufacturer is determining which sizes they do first and tethrd has no input into that. If that is the case then tethrd did a really bad job of setting that process up. If tethrd does have input into that process - and I have to believe they do - then they are doing a really bad job of setting the order in which saddle sizes are being manufactured.
Either way it all goes back to tethrd is doing a bad job of getting the saddles to us based on when orders were placed - and we, the pre-order customers, and others who have ordered since the pre-order period and not received their saddles, who ordered in good faith and trusted tethrd to do their part, are being negatively impacted.
Tethrd originally said they would be shipping out the orders based on when they were placed but that just has not happened. Here is a quote from the News page of their website on 09-06-2018: "We’ll still be shipping based on order of purchase, however, that will be phased by size as well." Well evidently the 'phased by size' process is not being done properly because 'order of purchase' seems to have little or no impact on when saddles are being shipped.....
Some have said that tethrd was overwhelmed with orders - more than they expected. I say that has nothing to do with manufacturing and shipping based on order date. You still complete the orders based on when ordered as we were originally led to believe would happen.
Tethrd is not the victim in this, we the customers are.
Any impact to the tethrd company was brought on by decisions they have made and they are responsible for the outcome. We, the customers, did our part and placed orders in good faith, allowed our credit cards to be charged before saddles were manufactured to help tethrd get started, with expectations of a reasonable delivery period. Tethrd has failed us and that is a sad statement of fact.....
