It seems like if you put pressure from the side they would want to roll on or slide on the tree unless you get them really really tight. You may be able to put a small Bolt through them leaving the Exposed on the tree side and sharpen it a little bit that may help some of that if that is a problem. Of course then you're messing with the Integrity of the step by drilling through it. I'm really curious to hear what you guys think about them.

The problem will be the steps pulling away from the tree. I was pretty excited about these until they didn’t work lol. Maybe these new ones will work though, or at least be an option for climbing the tree.

It doesn't matter as long as its stable. But the only steps I have seen stable (like rock solid stable) on top have to be cammed over, ie wild edge stepps.

Are there any concerns about the "floatability" of the steps in that they aren't tight to the tree? I did hear in the video that you must step straight down on the steps. I hope they work well for those that buy them.

Yes, definitely concerns. TBD when we get our hands on some.

They're very different. The ameristep attaches at the top and you stand below it. This step attaches at the top and you stand at that level. We'll see how they work.

I stay with my Ameristeps and the rachetstap in camo that is mildew resistant and abrasive resistant and has a stainless steel ratchet. It is rock solid.

My initial thoughts are similar to Red. In most any step I've prototyped or seen prototyped or used, the step is prone to peeling away from the tree when the strap is below your foot. The leverage isn't in your favor, and it puts a massive requirement on the strap to be able to hold the step tight to the bark.

I think they would be ok for climbing but not a platform. Watched the video and it was interesting. Thanks there goes another 140.00 bucks

5 gallon bucket of Crawford ezy climb screw in steps.
35 years of climbing stuff. So I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but prepared yes.
