Live from the tree 2017 version

Did a slow scout today on a new-to-me unit. I hiked a total of 6 miles and jumped a really nice buck (that I should have had a shot on, but I was careless).

It was 84° today and the snakes were out.

Hoping for good things. Temp was 70 at 2 pm today. By 6 am, when I should be settled in the tree, it is supposed to be 33. Very similar conditions, wind and temperature change, as when I shot that nice buck and didn't recover except it will be colder. I know the odds are astronomically against seeing him again but I'm hopeful I will see something good. Luckily I was able to rearrange my schedule so I can hunt for a few hours in the morning.

I'm not sure what's worse, getting into the tree late, less than 10 minutes since the official sunrise and nature's calling, just had a gentleman and his dog walk right by me, gotta love hunting parks!

About 500 of those are probably me! With limited time to get out I've been living vicariously thru those of you hitting the timber. I can't decide if tapatalk notifications are a good or bad thing LOL!

Y’all can have these cold days. Nothing works. Start up bike and throttle cable is froze up. Get to 1st gate and lock is froze up. Get to 2nd gate, it’s froze up. Get to ground blind and zipper is froze up. Waiting on day light and heated runs out of gas . Then my son says let’s go back to camp. That got my blood boiling so I don’t need the heater now. Told him he gonna tough it out. This isn’t a play station game.

Cold front here in the South. I haven't seen 45° temps in southern GA at 1 PM since....ever!

Earlier this morning, I'm outside prepping my spurs and platform to go on a mobile hunt with my kayak. My 10 year old daughter saunters out to the garage in her pajamas and says "I really want to go hunting with you today". Boom. Plans changed.

We're going to a spot I haven't been to in several months. I only have a couple preset spots that will work with my kiddos. This one has a nice easy ladder to climb and I'm thinking we'll more than likely see some deer.

My kiddos don't generally show much interest in the deer woods, so I'm pumped.

TEAM 1 - wish me luck.
