BassboysLLP's ultimate platform

That figures, my initial concept was a post with 2 batwing like standoff’s, and a longer post. Could easily go back to that with 2 versa buttons. Eliminate the teeth, and put in a leveling screw. Could use either LW or XOP bat wings.

I'm sworn to secrecy until Ernie gives the go ahead. lol

I think that is the problem, trying to make something fit all situations. Sounds like the org. Casting is probably pretty good.

I get it. We have those rules at work as well. Can’t let the cat out of the bag, or it could cost millions/billions in sales.

True. It needs to be functional for most situations. Heck, even when I hunted primarily from treestands I would take the assault style platform over the alpha many times when running and gunning because the assault could fit in more trees than the alpha because of the stand profile.

lol. Saddle Hunting Platforms vs. Mercury Outboard Components. Yep, our secret is far most costly....well, at least more fun ;)

The company I work for literally has locks on its inter office department doors.

Why is it a secret anyway? Is someone looking to profit? No big deal if they are but I thought the original idea was just to get the product to those that want it.

I would think making everything public would make a much better product.

Not much of a profit but XOP is coming out with a saddle platform.

There is significant cost associated with all of this. Not a lot of profit.

Very true. We had a hiccup in the design a few days ago and the DJIA crashed nearly 1200 pts. The weight of the world is on our shoulders.

BassBoysLLP,
Thanks to you and all the guys involved on the new SH platform. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say,...I can't wait!!!
They're are a lot of resourceful guys on this forum with a lot to offer that we all can appreciate.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; this site is awesome!!!

I got to thinking, .7 lbs seemed way to lite. I forgot our settings for weight are in kilograms vs lbs, so my initial concept is actually 1.5lbs so far.

Here is a platform design I have been playing with. It is made out of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic). The material comes in a 1in thick sheet with the grid already in it. Am really just looking for help with the shape

FRP is a good idea. A few of us were looking into it as a potential option for individual steps from an FRP I beam a while back. The main keys are that the glass fiber has the correct orientation and that the proper tools and safety equipment is used for fabrication. With a platform, one of the key considerations would be how the ears are attached for a pivot bolt.

This material is for decking so fiber should be orinantated correct. Yes I have a plan of using frp angle to make tabs for bolting to post and for angle adjustment bolt.
