    Never been dropped. This platform is about a year old. No one asked but I wasn't jumping on it when it snapped. I was doing a demo showing the different shooting positions. I was in position for shooting the 6 o'clock or "drop shot" position so I did have all my weight on the edge.

    It was tight, but not excessively tight. I was hooked in and only 4 ft off the ground but it is pretty terrifying when I think about what could have happened if I were 25+ft up and had a bow in my hand. The saddle would have still saved me but still... Unfortunately my back up is an identical...

    I was showing my cousin a couple of mobile hunting options he could adopt for an upcoming out of state hunt when my platform snapped! Luckily my mantis did its job and I walked away without a scratch. I might need to take a closer look at the predator.

    I am not suggesting unhooking at all. I think there has got to be a way to stay hooked up at all times and use one line for both applications. I've seen this community come up with some very creative solutions to common problems. I believe a solution is out there. We just need to find it.

    I'm considering shedding my dedicated tether and using my linemans belt for both applications. I know there has got to be a reason why the saddle hunting community uses a dedicated line for each but what is the reason? I know there could be a few seconds when you're switching between the two...

    MR Pop Up 28, lack of availabilty

    I really like my MR28 but if I knew about the traverse before buying, I might have went with the Alps instead. This is not a knock on the MR 28, I just think the price difference would have swayed me. 1/3rd the price for a very comparable pack would have been very tempting.
