Not sure what part you are from. I grew up around Valdosta about 60 miles north of i10 and was grown before I knew what a crappie or bowfin was even though I had been catching specks and mudfish all my life. Not in the southern portion. Grew up calling them specks. Loads of them off the satilla.

I mentioned on here that I thought it 3 pounds or less. But I don’t have a scale and Donnieballgame I think weighted his and it was closer to 5. But for me it just makes sense that I only carry the platform. I wear my saddle and tether around my waist. I have a $20 backpack from Walmart that has straps half way down on each side with plastic buckles that I run through each side of the platform and cinch tight. I put whatever in my backpack and that and my bow is it. That’s climbing method and platform all in one. When I get to height I put my hangers on or in the tree and I’m ready to hunt. It doesn’t take very long to climb but if you take your time you can not make as much noise. It’s apparently not for everyone but it really works well for me so I’m going to post it a lot. But that’s why they have different colors because not everyone likes blue.
I’m already thinking I’m going to bolt Lone Wolf arms on Predator and try it for climbing to see if it works better than Lone Wolf or XOP. But dot tell Ernie or G2.

And in south Louisiana we call a bowfin a Chouxpique and in North Louisiana they call it a grennel. Not sure what part you are from. Can you just buy the lone wolf arms and strap? I could use a set for a project!
I haven’t called them up but they don’t show them for sale on their sites. They might if you call them.

Man I'll be praying for a speedy recovery. I missed a couple of seasons with a busted shoulder, and almost went stir crazy. Is it an old injury, or something new?Sorry @bongo I'm recovering from a pretty legit back injury, no climbing for me, I'm just hoping to not miss the whole season at this point!

Probably more than just buying new...

Its for real and he partnered with @Erniepower who designed some reengineered version of his platform along with a stellar group of guys with crazy experience. Check out it all out at https://tethrdnation.com/
I bought a saddle and platform complete kit. This is gonna revolutionize saddle hunting. Lol get on board and get some hang time!!!!!
Thanks, man, really appreciate it, it's an old injury and a new injury they just happen to be the same location. I've had a big bulge in my L5S1 for a long time, and I just re-injured it, so it's a little bigger bulge now, lol and it's hitting the nerve, so lots of pain/tingling down my leg, I'm hoping to avoid surgery, we'll see, steroid shot last week, physical therapy, pain management etc.... Nothing happens fast as I'm sure you know with ur shoulder. Just praying i don't miss the season or at least all of it, it will be hard to hunt if I can't climb a tree and swing around in a saddle
BTW, I love this thread, it's turned into its own little animal!
@bongo Can you make a small video of how you use your system, to include adjusting belt as you climb and securing platform at hunt height? Thx in advance. I'm sure a lot of us would love to see it!
