That’s what I thought. This conversation moved over to predator at some point lol.
Mine as well. Sorry fellas. Anyone want to splice me some predator? That’s my fault. Sorry
No big deal.... I started the post. Both ropes are similar. I think many threads get off topic. That’s my fault. Sorry

I think going off topic is normal around here. If I stopped us from going off topic I think it would limit our creativity.Mine as well. Sorry fellas. Anyone want to splice me some predator?

I got stuck for a while near the end of the splice with the final bury. I ending up wrapping it around my trailer hitch on the truck, standing 10 feet away, putting slack into the rope and then violently falling back and throwing all my weight into it... for about 45 minutes off and on. I was sweaty and exhausted. To thread the lock stitch I ended up breaking 3 needles and used a combination of pliers and a hammer to get the needle through. If I were to do it again I'd buy it with a splice.

Good question. I think I could make a naked eye splice with it too but it does look like a pretty soft rope. I have used knots for the last year and they have worked fine with ultra tech. It is a good light rope but I would love to be able to splice it. I guess a sewn eye would be okay. I did have one spliced by tree stuff last year and the loop was too small and it came back with a naked eye and it was dipped in something .. not sure what. Not really impressed with the whole process.I planned on ordering ultra tech with splices but don’t like the idea of core being unprotected in the naked eye splice plus it looks weird.
What would u guys recommend?
Naked eye splice with no additional eye/core protection?
Naked eye splice and then protect it by wrapping some small cord material maybe or plastidip?
Sewn eye splice?
Just tie a knot?

My mistake... I did not ask for any particular size and got a tight eye. Really tight so I could hardly get a carabiner through it. Not really thinking about asking for a particular size. But the eye came back exposed and covered with some type of clear stuff almost like it was melted. Not really impressed with the eye and not impressed with my mistake either. What size loop did u ask for?
They had options for a small tight eye, a larger around 5inch eye & custom size.
I would like to have linesman and tether the same rope type (just longer for tether) & use ropeman 1 on each (even though rope is 9mm and not 10mm-13mm)

The eye was stiff for a bit past the eye too so it would be difficult to girth hitch. I wished I had tried the sewn eye.
If you want to girth hitch the rope... larger. If you just want a biner through it smaller. If you want to put a ropeman and biner through it for a tree tether larger. IMOThanks for the info
I was leaning towards the sewn for the core protection
Guess now I gotta see if 5” eye is a good size or if need custom whether smaller or larger
