Everything cam cleats

What grade?

All I can seem to find is just your run of the mill stainless bolts in a 5mm or 3/16".
Anyone else had any luck finding anything stronger? Source?

What little bit of research I've done, it doesn't look like there's really any other options.
Not sure How hard they are. They are not regular stainless. I told them my application and they provided the hardest they have. Real cheap like $0.33 for two bolts, washers and nylon lock nuts.

This thread is fairly old, but thought I'd ask. Was there ever a consensus on hardware? I have a Harken 150. Drilled holes were 5mm (13/64") per the instructions. Not going to find a grade 8 that small, so was the consensus to just use stainless with a lock nut?

Did you ever find an answer for this? I'll be building a stick in the next week or two and want to mount my Harken 150 as safetly as possible.

Yep. I just wound up using two stainless with locknuts. It’s been rock solid so far.

I found small grade 8 socket head bolts from my dad's bolt bin that were that small but he gets his stuff through a roll forming company he works at. Not sure how you would look something like that up.

Maybe make this thread a sticky? I stated in another thread not knowing about this one that some of the cam cleats can modded to not be as noisy. Pulling the back off and tacking in some hot glue/felt/etc to stop the metal on metal contact to eliminate noise. Here is mine modded with some hot glue. Prevents the cam from completely closing with also helps reduce any unwanted noise.
