Don't forget @20ftup ! And we need to find a name for these sticks! King Kong sticks? 20' is king and kong is..well kong? lol

Call them Kong sticks. He came up with the step and versa button idea. Not sure who cam up with the rivet idea? All I did was push him into the saddle hunting rabbit hole and talked him out of commercial sticks.

Great looking Sticks. I may buy a set. All depends on the ratings ie weight on what he anticipates they will hold.

For all the info Dan has shared I would give him the 300$. I think his observations about deer and hunting is profound at times. But as far as the sticks.... I'm with The Godfather... tree steps are the only option for me to get through crap I'm hunting. My bow is enough hassle.

I read on the beast that these sticks are coming in a little heavier than originally planned at just over 2lbs. I like the idea but at 24" sticks and $70 per stick I'm thinking I may try to make due with my LW sticks or Stepps. What do you guys think?

I'm in for a set. Still 4 inches longer, and a pound lighter than each of my current sticks.... Actually I would purchase them if they were heavier, just quality wise, for my style of hunting they will out last me.

Is this true? 2 lbs? I guess I need to go over there and see. Why oh why can Beast not be on Tapatalk!

Yep I went and looked. Honestly, I’m disappointed.

Lawyers mostly and constraints of materials engineering. For that weight might as well make them fold up so you can actually pack them in deep. Volume is a way underrated measurement in the hunting gear world. Mass isn't everything.

I am glad I made sticks from your steps. I guess I do not have to buy 2 pound sticks. Now I can buy the new super secret saddle and platform.

I agree. Kinda sucks if they come in that heavy. They will be a great product no doubt but a good bit heavier than expected.

I agree they will be a good product and I may still end up with some because I'm not as crafty as some of you but I may not rush into them now. I was also disappointed with the heavy weight but Dan said himself with the strap it weighed 2.04lbs. Without an aider I'll need to pay another $70 and gain 2lbs so it will be close to the LW steps except for the double steps. How much weight do guys save by switching out the straps for ropes?

2 pound sticks with amsteel mods are about a pound and a half. That's not far off the ones I built. I'm not sure how much lighter you can get with an aluminum construction.

I wonder why Dan didn't consider am steel instead to help get the weight closer to 1.5lbs especially if it is a strong as is claimed. Plus no buckle which would seem better for bed hunting.
