Awful blind run-n-gun tonight.

Was headed to a big funnel on a peninsula in the marsh. Turns out it's impossible to get to in these strip mines. Gonna have to go in blind somewhere in the morning. Sucks!

Have to leave Sunday morning. Would rather leave Saturday.

My tactic that has worked well is scout with the saddle on my back during lunch and hang-n-hunt. Leave the setup in the tree for the next morning. I'm hunting an evening and morning in one spot, then moving on...first sit, best sit. I hate hanging sticks in the morning.

This spot is going to ruin my flow. Not coming back here in the morning.

That sounds like most of my public land hunts this year. I think for the rest of this year I’m not setting up in any more ok spots if it means I walk until dark looking. I like the setup in the afternoon and hunt it the next morning plan though.

As expected, the spot tonight was a bust. Pulled everything out and going back after the hurt buck in the morning. Going to move 100 yards or so to a different funnel. Hopefully I'll catch him off guard. It's going to be an all day sit. Stay tuned for hero pics.
